Besides their telemarketers are usually some freak in the middle east and can't understand a word of english anyway so they can really get away with murder. My question is is FTC or BBB keeping an eye of these idiots? Obviously not.

AT&T couldn't care less about embarrassing you. They are crooks, why are you advocating for AT&T. They make false promises, don't deliver on customer service and they should wait at least 2 weeks before they start harassing someone for $25. I'm not saying that people should stop paying their bills but if you're a little late they should quit acting like crackheads and give people some time, especially if they have been siphoning money from you for over 15 yrs. If they put the kind of money into their technology and infrastructure that they put into commercials, maybe there wouldn't be so many complaints.

They don't tell you who they represent, patronize the person who answered the phone, while the voice, tells the person to find the person that the robot is calling for, so I didn't wait to hear the rest. I'm old enough to remember the voice of another, human being, at the other end of the line. I also, have a voice disorder, that would be unintelligible to the robot!

- Al DavidsonI just got a call from this number. I always pay both my AT&T landline and cell-phone bills when I receive them - in fact just paid them online this morning...
So there's no ~legitimate~ reason for them to be calling me...
Of course, not recognizing the number, I didn't answer the phone...
It's just purely speculative on my part, but I'm thinking these calls may have some other purpose???
It just doesn't make sense that AT&T would be calling customers with a robo type call as this has been decsribed as being if they're current on their bills...

- FedUpThis is an outside company that AT&T hires to harrass people. 99.9% of people pay their bills when they have the money to do so.Yet they treat everyone as if they are that tiny fraction that just don't pay because they don't want to. Any company that can buy out other companies is not even remotely close to being so bad off financially that they feel the need to harrass it's customers. They even have the nerve to disable your "services" and yet continue to charge you for them. People hate them for very legitiment reasons.

- Payments Scheduled In Advance| 2 repliesIf this is A T & T Collections they really screwed up first, I schedule my payments for landline and cell phones at least a month in advance and second, last I looked at each statement I had credits ... I still went ahead and paid!
Sad thing about this whole mess is that back when it was Ma Bell (before the break up) they had gotten too big and were also screwing up one way or another so Ma Bell wound being broken up into the "baby bells", one of those was Southwest Bell later becoming SBC who later went around buying up all the baby bells; A T & T Wireless was once known as Cingular ... until A T & T was supposedly 'merged' with SBC and became 'the new A T & T'.
Now it seems they are once again to big and once again screwing up from reading all these posts here.
In short, each bill (landline and cell) has already paid in full ... yet, like all of you, still called and harassed me with this number! When businesses get too big .... they end up doing stupid things and treat their customers like cr*p!!!- Caller: A T & T Collections

I highly doubt it's A T & T or anyrhing related to them! I schedule my bills a few months ahead of time and they are all paid up by now ... including for January!

Phone block them! If you have the number, you can block them. If you have a cell phone, have all your calls forwarded from your landline, which has blocking and caller ID unblocking. It's what I do. :-)
When your contract runs out, change to pre-paid plan. Tell them you don't want to be tied to their service if they fail to perform. If enough of us do that, their service will have to improve. Free phones are NOT free anyway. They come with a very expensive STRING attached. - doubtfulI doubt that this is truly AT&T they typically send snail mail. Plus one of the reports states that Mr Santana was the supervisor well we had an issue with a zombie collection agency and there was a Mr. Santana that kept calling and asking for a person with a similar name that was not me. After a couple of years they finally stopped after countless reports to https://www.donotcall.gov.
