AT&T referred me to this phone number when I told them that I HATE Uverse phone because if I decide to get rid of my computer or it dies or needs repair, my phone won't work.  They told me that continuing my land line would be tremendously more expensive then UVerse so I tried it.  They even put in a battery back up so if the computer fails the phone will still work for two hours.  Now when the computer fails the battery back up constantly beeps but the phone still doesn't work. So I called to ask for my land line back and got the run around and got hung up on three times.  Finally got transferred to this number where they guy made an appointment for today to install my land line again.  He told me to tell AT&T not to cancel my Uverse phone service until tomorrow so I did tell them but they cancelled it ahead of time...around 1PM this afternoon.  So I got on to chat because the service guy at this phone number is supposed to show up between 8 AM and 8 PM.  I picked up the mail and got a pamphlet from AT&T that seemed to say that I would get charged for long distance phone calls in the USA if I had a land line...but the pamphlet was confusing so I called to ask.  They told me that my long distance unlimited phone calls in the USA are still free.  One told me the guy who wil install the land line won't be here until at least 5 PM but don't leave because he could show up at any time until 8 PM.  I tried to chat online with AT&T to ask questions about what the pamphlet said to make sure that what I would be charged for a landline was correct and they tried to get me to stay on the internet line and offer me deals and when I insisted on a land line and wanted answers they always let the chat session "time out" and hung up on me.  They would always tell me that even if my AT&T web site timed out they could still chat with me...and every time the web site timed out they disappeared also.  The last time they told me that my phone was terminated and then they took phone off of my AT&T web site and along with that I also lost the CHAT ability to call and ask questions....that they always refused to answer.  I have a cell phone but my service plan no longer exists so I'll try to get my hubby to get the cell service my cat sitter has which is 24/7 unlimited calls in the USA for $10/month and good reception.  Now I have no phone to call AT&T or Telco which is who AT&T sent me to for the installation (via phone call) to see if the installer is really coming or not.  It is 6:15PM and no Telco phone number is not going to answer even if I borrow a phone to call because the office is closed.  If no one shows up to install the landline and I have no phone I will have to borrow one tomorrow so I can call Telco whose phone number is 1-800-300-5099 to see why they didn't show up.  And I will have to figure out how to get the $10/month plan my cat sitter has for her cell phone and will have to borrow someone else's phone to place the order and have the person on the phone help me figure out how to get it to work.  And then I might choose never to get any phone service from AT&T anymore.  I will have to see if there are any other companies who provide land line phone service.  AT&T's service has become so bad that it encourages me to see if there is something better.  And now that they keep track of everything that you do online, create profiles of you, and give or sell the info to other businesses and corporations so they can advertise to you or do what they please with the info, I am no longer engaging in emails with people anymore....and I use DuckDuckGo web site for surfing the internet because they don't identify you or keep track of what you look at and therefore don't sell info about you to other companies or anyone else and I will have privacy.  I worked in the medical field and I research many medical conditions.  But AT&T would see that and possibly put into my profile that I have a lot of medical problems because I read about them online.  I resent a loss of privacy and I will try to terminate violating my privacy whenever possible.  This phone number is Telco from AT&T.  When I called this phone number instead of calling AT&T and told them that AT&T was giving me the run around the guy seemed very nice and kind and made my appointment for today.  I hope he shows up.  If not, I'm done with AT&T.  He told me to tell AT&T not to terminate my phone service until tomorrow so I could be sure that my land line service worked first...but they still terminated it today before my land line was installed.

I get "toll free call" (Caller ID) all the time and I never pick it up.  It's not even in an area code where I know anyone.  Never knew it could be AT&T.  Usually I have my phone block 1-800 area codes or phone numbers I don't know when I don't know anyone in that area code.  I made an appointment for today to have a land line installed. He is supposed to show up between 8am and 8 pm.  It's now 6:45 PM and no one has showed up.  Even though the installer asked me to tell AT&T not to disconnect my U-verse until tomorrow they did it about 1 PM today so I can't call Telco (who AT&T sent me to for the installation) to see if they are going to show up.  And if they tried to call and confirm days ago I don't pick up "toll free calls" and no one left a message on my answering machine either.  I used CHAT online with AT&T 3 times today to try to get a confirmation but they let my chat time "expire" without giving me answers so I lost chat.  After the 3rd time they told me that my phone service is terminated and so was the CHAT online so I can't call.  I can't even call TELCO to ask because they close at 5 PM and I have no phone.
