Had to make visit to ER at Gwinnett Medical Center (GMC), my in network hospital on 4/3.  Rec'd call on my cell a few days later.  Caller said Gwinnett Emerg Specialists, PC (out of my network) were representing ER doctors at GMC, and wanted ins and personal info.   I told them to contact the hospital.  Caller got huffy and said we'll just send you the bill.  Got the bill $x,xxx without any breakdown... and is due in 18 days.   Called GMC about bill - not helpful;  just said they use independents sometimes  and just gave me the 800 # to call.   Called the # (same on the bill 800-355-2470) person would not speak with me until I gave her my DOB & SSN!!  I told her I just wanted to give her my ins info which is what my ins carrier told me to tell them (Medica was going to try and help me with this situation).   I said they got my name and address from the GMC ER, why couldn't they get the rest?  And no, they wouldn't call.  Again said I didn't know these people really were, could not give that type of personal info, and asked for a supervisor. Eventually they hung up on me after informing me it was my bill and it would go to collections (I just got the bill 2 days ago).   GA is not one of those states that prohibits gap invoicing...or invoicing from undisclosed non-network physicians.    Legit or not, this firm has a loooong trail of complaints (check Google, Yelp....), and it smells.

I have been getting the same calls as well. This time they left a message stating that during a recent hospital visit my insurance denied part of the claim. I know this is false because I have already been making payments to the hospital for the bill. I will not call the number back because I am thinking it is a scam as well.

Even if this scam was legit. You never give medical information to some cold calling random 3rd party.

1st, you're replying to a 9-year old post.
2nd, it's HIPAA.

It's either legit or a scam. There's no way for it to be both.

Ask them ! !  Who in their right mind would give out their info over the phone when they don’t know which doctor, have not received a bill or account #, etc.  Sounds much like a scam or an amateur billing operation that doesn’t know [***] !

The above named sent a bill out in the amount of $4,227.00 requesting payment when the services was paid at the time he received medical attention.

Thank you.  I have to wonder though, because the one person at the top of this page indicated that they were in Georgia.  The outfit you mention is in California and I can find nothing that indicates that they are a national company.

This number wont stop calling me. Comes up as spam. I ask for their number to cb every time and they always give me 800-355-2470.

Scam is back

This is not true. I asked for a paper statement. I haven't even received a bill. Know why? Because my INSURANCE COMPANY ALREADY PAID IT. TOTAL SCAM. I TURNED THEM IN. RIDICULOUS.

Why are you replying to a post clearly made in 2010?  Are you expecting that person to stop back to see your reply after 10 years?

I've been getting texts telling me to call this number and my bill for Envision is due. Envision is a medical imaging company that has a few offices in the surrounding cities (but not mine). I've never been to any of these offices. I did go to the ER earlier this year but no imaging was done and I have no outstanding balance. At one point this number may have been a legit all be it shady collector but it's now a 100% scam.

Phone number spoofing pretending to be a real medical billing company. Asked for my personal info from social security number to dob to address. I haven't been at the emergency room in years so I knew it was a scam.

Wrong!! It is absolutely a scam and you are likely involved. Hopefully you get caught and prosecuted

Have called me twice. I do not answer the phone they called me on. The name in caller ID  is reimbursement tech. I called them back and was asked to leave voice mail. I have read other people's messages I think this is a scam and will not be returning these calls

Was very bad at convincing me I still had a balance on a bill and corrected her and said my insurance took care of that and my co-pay that I paid was $90 for the "emergency room" visit. So I asked her to please stop calling me and stop scanning people! We are already in a covid crisis and your scamming people! She hang up! I also have received bills in the mail from them! Saved a couple!😁
