I just got 4 calls in 4 hours from a scam Microsoft call claiming it was an emergency; my license was expired, and I should call 800-360-0998.  The number they called me from was 844-308-6820.

It's a scam. Do not call them back. *67 does not work on toll free numbers. They will see you number and you will get more calls.

Have been called 5 times in the past two hours. Gave up answering the phone, but they still call. Going to complain to the FCC. Stupid scammers. They say "Your Windows key has expired and all services will be cut off." This doesn't happen. They don;t have that kind of control over my computer.

This is simply random. It has nothing to do with your update. Scammers are just using an autpdialer program that goes by blocks of numbers. Don't be paranoid. Just don't respond to them.

I wonder why the US/European govts, with all their technology can't/won't track this kind of harassment down.  It can't be that hard, even if they are using surrogates.  I envision people who only use their computer for email and FB (eg your grandparents) being caught by this scam.

I tried this too. They told me it would cost $50 for them to stop calling. I told them off & they started saying some very vulgar disgusting things, 'f' word many times, etc.

I called the FTC to report them. They told me that the more complaints they get about calls like this, the more priority it gets for them to put a stop to. Call FTC phone # 1877-382-4357 to report them.

I am getting calls repeatedly from 800-360-0998, a computerized voice stating it's an emergency call from Microsoft and I need to call them back... I have called them and told them to take me off their call list and they say ok... calls continue, I called back and ask for a supervisor and they hung up on me.  I understand this number is a scam and would like them to stop calling.

Received 3 call on 02/092017 from:  Between 9 and 11am mountain standard time.
I didn't answer it and let it go to voicemail.  Here is the  message."This is an emergency call from Microsoft. Your Windows license key has been expired. All services will be terminated soon on your computer.  To remove (renew?) that call us back on our toll free number 800-360-0998." This is an emergency call from Microsoft. All services will be terminated soon on your computer. [repeats several times]."

I get these calls all the time. I invent a new story every time I talk to them (ie, How can that be, I use Linux, or my TRS-80 doesn't show an error). My personal record is leading the people there on a 20 minute conversation to nowhere.
