This number is a free cell phone information service.

Called me twice no messages.

It gives another number to call.  That is an adult line, if you know what I mean.

800-373-3411 is also known as 1-800-free-411...it's a free information number.

Got a call on my cell phone. Didn't answer and no message left.

I keep getting a missed call from this number. I try and call back and says not a valid number.  How can I find out who is calling using the calling card or what numbers the original phone has been calling?

This is a free USA 411 look up service that also offers to connect the caller to the number they are looking up - which could explain getting calls from them.

This is a valid number for free telephone lookup comes in handy when u dont want to pay the two dollars for information just to get a darn phone number

We got a call from this number at 1 a.m. on the Saturday right before election day.  It was a recorded spoof of the usual political calls:  "Why am I running for office?  To put myself out of a job."  I hung up and they called right back.  If this is really the number for a look-up service, then someone who works there must have been bored and decided to make prank calls.

this is a lagit phone number for free 411 services tough they do have some advertising as well thats how they are able to make it free i have been using them for a few years now

my verizon bill shows i made a call to this #.  I have never used directory assistence.  I do not know what the # is - can't remember who i call.

I would like to be taken off the directory i have made my number unpublished and would like from my name and number to be taken off this directory for public access.

I do NOT know whose number this is.
I do not want calls from this number.

Calling 411 for directory assistance costs about $1.00 a call but a company called Jingle Networks has created a free alternative where you call 1-800-FREE411 (1-800-373-3411) then navigate an automated voice recognition system that asks for a location (city and state), type of listing (business, government, or residential), and name. Once the service has located an entry for the requested number, it reads the information aloud and offers the caller the option of connecting to the number by pressing a single number on his telephone keypad.  If you are seeking a number for a business, you may hear a 12-second ad for a competing business and then be given the option of connecting to that business or the one you were seeking.  Companies pay to have their ads played and this generates the revenue to pay for the free 411 service.  When someone seeks the number of company that is not an advertiser, a salesman from Jingle Networks may call them shortly thereafter to see if they want to advertise.  This would be the reason someone gets an unsolicited call from 800-373-3411 (800-FREE411).  This information and more can be found on Snopes, under " Free 411".
