These folks have been calling us for years and the person they are looking for is not us. We have told them many times who we are and we don't know who Bobby B. is. We have told them how long we have had this number and even requested they take our number off their calling list. They say ok but call atleast a dozen times a month. If I can find an address on these folks I will send a cert. letter requesting them to stop call.

    Tired
This is the 4th time they've called. Every other time, I have not recognized the number, and let the answering machine catch it.  Each message has been a recording asking for Sharon Middlebrook, who I do not know and who does not live here.  It says if you are not the person they are looking for, then disregard the message.  I disregard, of course, but they still call back.
This morning at 8:39 AM they called, so I decided to answer to let them know they have the wrong number.  As I answered the call, a woman asked for Larry Tucker (different name than on answering machine).  Told her no one by that name here.  She stated that my number is the most current contact number for him and asked how long I've had the number.  I told her 3 or 4 years, which is correct.  She then stated she would have my
number removed from their list, and would take up to 48 hours; disregard anymore phone calls from them. Woman did not identify herself or the company.  I found company info from searching on the internet for the number and the information that I have found is this is Enhanced Recovery Corporation.

We receive several calls each day from this number and the recording always asks us to hold for important message. The number actually belongs to Recovery Corporation, as I looked it up on "reverse lookup" on internet.
They harrass me for somebody I don't even know!  They also say they will take my name off their call list, but I think they have numerous toll free numbers that they use.  It's a scam!  Too bad the FBI or other government agency doesn't put a stop to them.  (You would think if the government can locate which cow in a huge herd of cattle in Canada has mad cow disease, they could put a sto to Recovery Corp prank scams.)

Tired of this number appearing on my cell phone. when i got mad and answered it (usually I don't) a lady answered.  she asked for someone I didn't know.  she asked if I would like my number taken out of the system and I told her she had better and she replied "I don't have to do anything I don't want to, don't tell me I had better".  There were several "words" exchanged as my temper got the best of me.  This number has appeared on my phone as early as 8:00 a.m. and as late as 9:10 p.m.  Don't know what to do to get them to stop.  Usually a recording comes on the phone but this time a person responded.

Got a call on my cell phone from this company.  The initial call told me to wait for an important message, and then disconnected me.

I called back the phone number, and asked who they were looking for.  ERC was looking for someone who either might have my phone number before me; or gave my phone number as a phoney phone number.  After I told ERC that there was no such person at my cell phone number, they removed my cell phone number from their call list right then and there.

Nice to know that I can actually call back someone, and get some answers and results.

Been getting automated collection calls for about a week. Just called to tell them there is no one here by that name. They were very polite, applogized and said they would remove the number within 48 hours.

fortunately for a paranoid person like yourself it is not a scam. it is a certified debt collection agency that is legally licensed and bonded with the fdcpa.so u can relax and sleep at night knowing so.

    Frustrated in MS
Okay, so for the 3rd time today they call again.  I feel bad that i have to lie to them.  They call then it hangs up, must i mention they somehow got my daughters cell number.  I called back and asked what they wanted and i told them that the person they were call was my Aunt..lol  Anyways, he told me that he knew that this was my number and i better call him back within 2 hours or action will be taken.  I am really scared..lol(not really)... So, if anyone is receiving this call, dont worry with them.  PLay mind games like they do. He calles himself J.Bowling....

I called ERS at 800-586-0013. Explained that my # is not for the person they're looking for. Customer service says they'll take my number off the list for this person. Fingers crossed it works

This was a very bad automated collection call. Heard just part of the tape that said ".....collect a debt". That does not constitute disclosure under the FDCPA, nor did they disclose their name and company, also violations of the FDCPA, the Federal Debt Collection Practices ACT of 1966 and Revised 2003. I'll send them the usual cease and desist order as I don't have a clue if it a debt of mine.

My debt to Washington Mutual was substantially paid off, but the bankrupt Washington Mutual (bought Providian but was much worse to deal with) sold it to someone, who resold it. Now it has ballooned way up. Another cease and desist letter needed.

Memo to Former Collector; registered FDCPA is bogus. Registered with whom?

Thanks for the information people. I'll blast ERC with a FAX followed by mailing said FAX, so that I can prove in court, if necessary, that they received it.

    All best,
    JTO
