Yes, pressing 1 works.  Stay on the line, press one for English.  After that, press 1 if you want your name and number removed and 1 again to confirm.  Yaaaay!

I got a call from them too.

My suggestion is to make a complaint on the Canada Do Not Call List website.  They can have penalties imposed against them if you've registered on the DNCL and they contact you.

This number showed up on my call display a few times in the last few weeks but they never called when I was home to answer it. Tonight they called and identified themselves as from CIBC First Line Mortgages. Legitimate, as that is the company that holds my mortgage. They were trying to sell me life insurance on that mortgage. It would seem to me they must be contract "cold-callers" and what they want is dependent on who they are calling.

Yeah they call me everyday but I've never picked up since the first time they called. 1-800-391-7765 must be stopped calling or we will sue you. This is a serious harassment. It's very easy to track you down. So stop it right now !!!

sigh.   another scam.  just once.  I mean just once.  Couldn't it be the perfect someone... something...   But alas.  If it were E-mail it would be in the spam folder.  And it does not X-tenz anything.  but it does unload your wallet.  Peace.

I'm getting pretty tired of 800-391-7765 calling me 2-3 times a day.  You can call the number back and choose the option to remover your number from the calling list, but it will end up back on there in a matter of days.  What I have found makes me feel better when tele-marketers call me is wasting their time.  Next time you get a call and there is a person on the other end ask them to hold for a minute while you get the person they are asking for. Then just let them wait. and wait... and then wait some more.  everyonce in a while go back to the phone and ask "are you still there? It'll just be another minute." then put them on hold some more. >:D  Try it. It will make you feel a lot better. One telemarketer that I did this with waited for over 32 minutes.

    a possible solution
here is what i have done with my iphone, i have a silent ringtone on it, so whenever a piece of s$#@ calls me and i know it can be junk i add it to the contacts and assign the silent ringtone to it. so next time they call me, i don't HEAR the fu#%ers calling me, cause there is no ringtone.

They keep telling me they are calling on behalf of a bank I do not believe this. The last time I input my number to be taken on their do not call list, the next day I started receiving 30 calls a day from Jenny Craig and car insurance companies (I don't even have a licence). I know what they are doing is illegal since I have worked as a tele-researcher doing surveys (it really [***] sucks). Anyways The last time this happened I had to pay $25 to change my phone number. I hope I don't have to do it again. I have logged a  complaint with the CRTC regarding these calls. I'll see what happens.

Did you guys also see how bloody sketchy their website is?

    just thinkin'....
I suggest you buy an airhorn of some description and when you get one of these calls, do whatever you have to do to get in touch with a live person; when they come on the line, blast the airhorn into the phone and hang up.  If this spreads across the continent we will be able to identify the people who work for the companies that make these calls by their hearing loss in one ear.  We can then beat them to death.

It might also be advisable to invest in hearing aid stock at the same time.

They've been calling my fax line for days, so you would think they'd figure out it's not a voice line. I called them back and left the number to be put in their Do Not Call list, thanks for the tip. I get pestered by CIBC all the time, both via phone calls and emails. Sorry I ever setup a bank account with these people, all they do is try to sell me more stuff I don't need or want.

I called this number and apparently they are calling from CIBC trying to sell Life Insurance. All you have to do is tell them to ur number to be on their do not call list.

Just got a call from this number and let the answering machine get it. I was really creeped out to hear a heavy breathing noise. WTF. I see no one here described the same experience. Maybe this company is trying a new tactic.
