It's CIBC Insurance telemarketers just to let u know.They called me as well.

Telemarketing company calling for CIBC life insurance. Get the name of the caller first, then instruct them to delete the number. Second call CIBC life insurance, get the name first of course and advise them either delete your number or you will cancel the policy with them. Remember - always start nice to get name of the caller then BOOM !

Same as all previous posts, received MANY calls over a few week period, called the number back, received  message saying it was CIBC life insurance, press 1 to be removed, may take up 30 DAYS! Typed in the number I wanted removed, when I was done it immediately said record a message after the beep, so I stated my name, number said I did not wish to receive any more calls, and if I did, I would be taking action. This has GOT to be illegal. Wish there was a way to stop it completely.

You should learn to speak better english if you actually expect us to believe that you're a 'reporter' for the CBC.

I've been receiving several calls from this number (1-800-391-7765) as well, almost everyday. They don't leave a voice message. It's from CIBC, selling some insurance product. I decided to call back today and got an automated voice message with a coup0le of options. If you choose option 1, you it take you out from their mailing list so you won't get a call from them again. However, there is a 30-day period for this request to take effect.

I did the do not call thing by pressing one.  The [***] phoned again today, but this time I got an actual voice!  I told them I was sick of them phoning over the last three weeks and hanging up.  I still have no idea who they were but the original recording when I phoned them back was CIBC investments

You pay service fees to your bank because you want them to keep your account details accurate and private; CIBC *might* do half of that, but they certainly *won't* respect your privacy. Start an account at CIBC and they'll sell your data to Gemma Communications -- a phone solicitor so disorganized that, on those rare occasions that they actually connect with a stooge, the telemarketer can't be bothered to actually read the script (see "just heavy breathing on the other end" again and again, above).

Rinky-dink Gemma Communications is by no means the organization I with which trusted my personal information when I opened my accounts at CIBC, but then, as it turns out, neither is CIBC the organization I thought it was. When I told my Branch manager about the calls, he looked me up on his computer and said, "oh, weird. You've got 'do not call' listed here. They shouldn't be calling you." Too bad for me, I guess. That's how much control CIBC has over your information after they've given it to Gemma.

I've closed all of my accounts at CIBC and moved my investments to a bank that doesn't leak my private info like a loose loofah. I advise you to do the same.

So why is a telemarketer calling me when I am on CRTC's Do Not Call registry? CRTC should look into this violation of registry by telemarketers!

I'm not sure if this action will effectively stop them to call you.
If rape is inevitable try to relax and to have fun ;-)

If stupid people disturb you and hope to make money form this.  - Tell them what you think.
More people will get sick on this stupid place - more of them will start to look for another job (hopefully more productive or creative).

But, for sure, some of them can't be more productive or creative...
So, they will be treated the same way as long as it take to realise stupidity of they position.

You know, studying  take the time...
If they ready to pay by they health to spend the time on stupidity - there not much you can do...

So, I propose more active approach. We have to teach them.

So in my position, I didn't call them - useless.
But when they call me I test they tollerance to stupidity ;-)

Once again, more of them will leave this place (for whatever reason) - quicker this approach will die

And more people will be avaliable for true service work.

I called the number for Gemma Communications to request my cell number be removed from their calling list (as Alex suggested), and the woman who answered immediately hung up on me.  Wow.

They call me daily..  Sometimes twice a day.  

My phone carrier has a phone blocking option.. I added this number and no longer get bothered by them.   The only reason I know they're calling is because they show up in the ignored number log.
