CALLER ASKED FOR AN UNKNOWN NAME

I received a call from this number and I said hello, and no one said anything to respond. This number has called me several times, and they wont say anything. This was on October 24, 2008 at 3:35 pm.

same here. Keeps calling about an unknown person. Keep telling them it is not me. They want my information.. yeah right....

This number is from Qualia Collection Services. If you answer the call request documented information to be mailed and settle you debt with the company whom its owed.

They are known for illegal activities violating the consumer protection act. Several complaints have been filed with the Federal Trade Commission and other government and state bureaus. This happened to me over five times.  I have answered the call and they are looking for an unknown. The last time was 8/11/2010 at 4:10 pm  After I state who? They continue to ask to speak to the person, want to leave a message. I state I don't know them and what is this company name etc. because I have let you know I don't know them and remove my number.  Then they hang up.   I called back and spoke to Zic, and she looked my name up and stated we have nothing on you can you give me you home phone Number.  I stated NO...you have nothing on me and still calling on my cell for someone I don't know and now you want info on me. and my home phone... At that point I let her know my number is on the Federal Do Not Call list as well as the State.  I said I will have to report your company and the Government will give you a fine.....She stated OK... WHAT IDIOT WOULD WANT INFO ON SOMEONE YOU DON'T HAVE IN YOUR FILE OR EVEN ANY BUSINESS WITH.????  I know times are hard and people want to keep a job and have a call quota but call the right numbers......

I got a experiences and I set this number on the reject list.

Just reiterate what was said above. The guy who I answered to became pretty abusive when I refused to deal with him. I asked who was collecting and for what. He wouldnt answer this except to say he was thier representative. Another scam to get money under false pretences.

Apparently they were calling me regarding a balance with Rosetta Stone. They had my name and number but an invalid address and other false information. They are [***] as well.

This place called me last year and has just started up again. They have a recorded message asking for "Juan Castellano". When you stay on the line or call them back, they never heard of a Juan Castellano but want your information to "direct your call". It's a phishing scam. I reported them last year and just reported them again. Apparently no action is taken. Note: that if you get SS or disability benefits, these syndicates find out immediately and start calling you with phony names or pretend you owe somebody money. It's a disgrace.

QUALIA :: Leaves garbled message about owing an old debt. Just another scammer out of Petaluma, Califraudia!

Thanks for the heads up : )  I really love how this community helps out everyone ... turning the tables on dirt bag collectors, one post at a time ... O and just for the record I answered when they called, identified myself, and they hung up on me !

keep getting calls from this company..I owe no body any back debts...when I returned the call all I got was a "hello" and it sounded like I called someone at home...

I get calls from this number on my cell phone all the time but I never pick up because I don't know who it is and I don't answer unless I know the number.  I am on a no call list.  Isn't there anyway to get them to stop other than paying to block them?

They call about a debt that I haven't even received a written letter about and demand all kinds of financial and personal info.  They ask your employer name and how much money you make per week, etc.  I told the guy that I am not providing that information, he began threatening me with all kinds of legal action.  I kindly explained to him that I believe I have 30 days to dispute the alleged debt once I received written notification.  

I received a telephone call from SVC collection with a phone number of 800-433-5709.  I did not answer it because I pay my bills.  

Received a call at work from a "Rebecca" with QCS asking me to call her back at: 800-433-5709.  They called my work number and their number came up as: 707-238-5176.  Just left me a message.

I have been receiving calls from this number all times of night and day 7 days a week.  I decided to call and yes I do owe money to the company that was mentioned.  The agent answered by saying hello instead of announcing the collection company name (my first sign) when I ? that she said did someone one call you and I said no, I'm calling you. (my second sign) Then she offered me a settlement amount which was too good to be true (my third sign) I accepted and made payment arrangements with her.  As I was giving her my cc info she was repeating it.  Having done collections before myself, I know that you are not supposed to repeat a persons cc info.  I asked her was she aware that she is not supposed to do that and she said she never heard that before (my fourth sign) Now you're probably thinking what the heck is wrong with me!!!!!!!! I asked her whats the name of your company again and she said Qualia you can look us up on line.  I said ok and I continued to make arrangements with her. Boy am I slipping I KNOW BETTER!!! I gave her my cc info and then I looked them up (BACKWARDS) Thanks to all of you and your previous posts.  I immediately went to the ATM and emptied that account and called my cc company and cancelled the card.  I then called the company back and of course she was not in.  I told the agent I was just calling to make sure she sends me a settlement letter in the mail and he said ok.  JOKES ON YOU CROOKS!!!

Just letting it be known the correct address is listed as Boulevard (instead of Avenue).
