Received repeated calls and hangups from this number.  *69 says it's from Dell, but when I called them the agent claimed to know nothing about it.  She said she'd transfer me to a customer service agent but I hung up after waiting half an hour.

Continual hangup calls from a caller ID "Unavailable" yet it shows the number shows the phone number (800)433-9014. After pressing redial, the call was answered by Dell. I spoke with a supervisor who ostensibly removed my number from their phone base. This did not happen and I'm still receiving at hang-up calls daily.

I have been getting phone calls from Dell Everyday for 3 months. Most of the time nobody answers when I pick up. When I actually speak to a person And tell them I don't need their services and to stop calling me they are rude and unprofessional. last time the guy called me a liar and an a******.

All you have to do is let them know the next time they call you are recording their phone conversation (legal in most states) to use as evidence against them in a court of law and they will hang up before you can say Jack Robinson. It worked for a family member who was being harassed over a debt she had already settled with them.

"Jack" called me from "Dell" and mentioned that someone was trying to hack my system and that Dell servers received a notification.  He was calling me as "Dell" was concerned...After further request for identification, the person finally changed his story - now he was a technician from a company called PC Experts and that they are certified to work on all types of systems and makers.  I advised him that I was recording the call, what he was doing was ILLEGAL (posing for a reputable company) and trying to get information from people.  He provided the Dell toll-free number (after pausing for a long time, obviously trying to get the number).  His ID did not match of Dell.  So the bottom line here, DO NOT fall for those types of calls!

This guy claims to be from Dell but they just want access to your machine to scam you. It's a complete fraud.

Yup.  I got the same kind of call.  Since both of our dell computers are offline - and have been for several days, I figured it was a scam.  I told him I'd care for it myself.  He was polite, and we hung up.  These people suck.

Got a call from this number, didn't answer it and searched instead and this site was the first result in Google. This is the second time I've gotten a call from them; didn't answer the other one either.

Now, it makes sense that Dell'd have my number; I love their computers. But they can keep their advertising and whatnot to my email, where I can look at or ignore it as I please. Plus, their official emails, such as order confirmation, have a different look in the subject line, so they're easy to spot.

And if it's really that important, they can leave a message.

As soon as I picked up the phone and heard the accent, I asked them if they were from Microsoft!  LOL  So many scammers claiming to be with Microsoft.   Then he said he was with Dell.  I told him that I have a HP.  I am being as honest to them as they are to me.   Then he asked why I got rid of my Dell.   I told him that I don't do business with scammers.  Then I told him, "may God have mercy on your soul".   This usually stuns them into silence.  It did this time.  I hung up on him.

I received a call from 800-433-9014. The guy was pretty adamant about me being in front of my computer so he could walk me through the "problems" my PC was having.  I told him I was a work and to call back after 6:00 in 2 days as I wouldn't be home.  He called that night 4 times, never left a message.
Then I started getting calls from "unknown" stating the same thing.  I hung up on that call.
I'll be I received 12 calls this week from "Dell".
One thing, he did have my model # and service code (not sure if that was correct, I wasn't home to verify it).
After I told them this was a scam and what I thought, he hung up on me.  haven't heard from him since.........

I never answer calls with unfamiliar numbers, especially ones that don't identify who they are like this one.  I called the number back and the automated answering said, "Hello.  I someone in your household age 50 or older?"  Immediately hung up and put their # on my blocked caller list.  Even if it is Dell, I hate their computer and their service repair is crap, so I don't want to hear from them either because I'll NEVER buy another Dell computer!

They call me daily with the same story.  The one dell i have dont work and has not be running for over a year. They get mad at me when i tell them this. Now when they call i scam them back one time saying that technology the root of all evil and they it was the devil. the next time acting like I couldn't hear them and hanging up. I will continue to make up things until they stop calling me, So least I can get a good chuckle out of it.  Vs. getting mad.

    enough is enough
I got a few of these calls from "Dell".  They sounded fishy so I called Dell.  They told me they would NEVER contact me by phone.  They said it is a scam and to hang up or don't answer at all.  Now, I like to answer and scream as loud and shrill as I can right into the mouth piece.  Someone won't be able to hear out of that ear for awhile.   lol

I'm not a security expert.  But I would assume that they have everything on your machine and may have installed malicious software,

If you do online banking, I'd contact my bank and put a watch on your accounts.  If you store credit card info, I'd contact my credit card companies; they can walk you through putting in an alert with the credit bureaus.  If you do pretty much anything with personal identifiable info, I'd sign up for some identity theft protection company (e.g. Lifelock).  I would do all of the above with great haste.

After that I'd change any passwords (e.g. eBay, PayPal, gmail) that were stored on the suspect computer; do this using A DIFFERENT MACHINE.

Shut down the machine and unplug it.  Take the machine to someone you trust technically (e.g. Best Buy). Explain the situation.  They should be able to backup your data.  If there is some program set to scramble your data, record your keystrokes, install mal-ware, etc., they should be able to detect and remove it.

    Good Luck.

Called on my cell.  Left no message.

I call back.  The message sounds like a legitimate DELL phone tree.

Combining this with other's posts, I'm guessing that a MS windows SCAMMER has spoofed a real dell number.   This is a cheap way to add some legitimacy to a scam.   I'm pretty sure that they got my info when DELL was hacked (google "dell breach" and skip sites ending in "dell.com" for more).  Be warned that they may have Dell invoice numbers, email address, your name, computer service tag, etc.

They introduce themselves as some kind of technical support through Dell.  Their knowledge of details of your computer lends an air or legitimacy to an old SCAM.  If you have any doubt, go to the dell website and call them from the phone number listed there (do NOT trust any number that the caller provides).  Search youtube for "windows scam" if you are interested in how the scam works.
