that phone number is for 1st mortgage collections with BofA. You clearly owe them a payment or more. Pay your bills, stop complaining.

They will not stop until you pay your DEBT with Bank OF America, either it's heloc, 2nd mortgage, personal line of credit, overdraft protection accounts.. You clearly owe a bunch of money so stop complaining, and take some responsibility in your life - ALL OF YOU PEOPLE THAT ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS NUMBER.

This is the only problem with BofA, because not every single department can see ALL accounts with BofA. A branch doesnt even process payments there. Collections for BofA is a separate unit and most branches and different accounts wont know of it./. If someone says to a call number on the back of your statement, that's vague. THe associate asked for your full social because that is one way to pull up your account. And just because you dont owe a homeloan with BofA, you can still have accounts like 2nd mortgage, or heloc, or overdraft protection, personal lines of credit, etc. So if that number is calling you - you are a fat debt and I hope it is a lot of your ignorance with your responsibilities of being an adult.

You're right - and sometimes it's not a courtesy call, but straight up collection efforts. They collections from 1 - 100 days past due - so careful. If that number is calling, you owe money.

Michael is rude replies to Michael
You are rude and ignorant for talking to people that are weary of a scam this way. I bank there but do not have a mortgage or Home Equity LOC with them. I'm not saying it isn't them that called me, (also my husband hates BofA so it definitely wasn't for him). My accounts are all in good standing with them, so it doesn't necessarily mean your account is in collections or late. I called the Customer Service line and the rep couldn't even tell me if it was them that called me. There were no notes on my account stating they called. He said I cold report it to the suspicious call line. I would just wait until they send a letter. Otherwise, they're probably trying to sell you something. I worked there for years, that's why the number looked familiar to me. All they care about is selling products. Honestly, they could careless about their customers. It's all about goals, referrals, and references there. Sell, sell, sell! Michael you are ignorant.

I was researching this as I got the calls and they were suspicious. So there are replies from Michael then Mich insisting this is legit and you should call them and settle debts. Did Michael get banned and have to return as Mich? Very suspicious I would say. Sounds like he/she is part of the scam! Just sayin...

Got a call this morning from 888-325-5397.  Immediately asked me to verify my address for the account, but would not specify which account and asked for my address.  When I said no they told me to call 800-451-6362.  I called BAO regular number and they said there are no issues with any account and this was a fraudulent call.

B of A customer replies to gottabescam
Got the same phone call today, asked for SSN and address. We have a Home Equity Line with B of A, but we are not behind at all; all of our payments are up to date. It doesn't seem to be a legitimate phone call; I would never give my SSN to anyone over the phone unless I initiated the phone call and know whom I calling.

Whether this is or is not BOA calling, whether or not it is legitimate, I must say the credibility of this organization is greatly reduced by its employees (minimum wage stooges) coming on here and insulting people, using profanity, etc.

I have not been so much interested in all these forum post here on loan because of red flags on comments but a week ago i read a convincing testimonial here on the forum about a credible firm offering affordable loan in Pennsylvania. i decided to give them an opportunity, i was impressed because they gave me an A+ rating in financing as i got financing from the firm, so i decided to share this on here, there is a credible firm you should work (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) with and that’s Mr. James Carl. To get in touch just call or SMS him directly through phone: 267-884-0582

This is complete BS.  Bank of America has no record of the phone number calling and my account is paid until next month.  IT IS A SCAM and anyone saying otherwise is trying to scare people into responding.  B of A NEVER asks for full social security number.  Call them yourself if you don't believe me.

    SCAM
This is clearly a scam call.  No one asks for your SS# (even the last 4 digits of your SS#) from a legit call.

And some of the people on this board are clearly in on it.  Michael, who's too lazy to change his name, is REALLY trying to convince people that this is a legit number and that you're "ignorant" if you don't call it.

I own my car and home outright, my credit line is perfect (and constantly monitored), and, if there WERE a problem, BofA would reach out via mail.  No one goes to court based on not believing a phone call from some creditor.

If only these people worked this hard at legit jobs.
