- Darn Cat replies to This is not a scamthis is indeed a scam.
Don't let yourselves get fooled by the scammers who post here
feebly masquerading as an un-involved 3rd party-
If it is for real, you will have received a registered letter.
It will detail to at least some extent what the debt involves, and to whom.
If you haven't received this information, why haven't you?
The reason is because some one is attempting to fleece you!
Don't be a sheep... - jean replies to Ursulaput them on your privacy manager and they will be blocked from ever calling again
- jeanI have never been in an ambulance and I get these calls also every morning about 8 am it is a scam and you can put them in your block call list and the call won't go threw. I have done this with severl 800 numbers they also call with a unkown listing and out of area also so becareful when answering these also. they try anything they can to get you to answerr a call I do not answer these kind of calls . and yes they are out of line you can report these numbers if they still call you and your bill will be paid in full because they are in violation of the collection act. they do not have the right to harrass you in your home or at work besides if you owed the bill they would send you a bill. with everythi8ng on it. that is the only thing they can do so know your rights.

- suzq replies to UrsulaThis company has been leaving messages on my cell phone, but not for me.
I, too, am NOT the person they are trying to contact.
They leave an "invoice" number as well as the call back phone number on the message.
Because I've read other posted notes about this company on this website , I will not respond. - RoyA month or two ago I ended up in the hospital. I hadn't paid the bill yet because there was the ambulance one, and other bills totaling $5000 that insurance supposedly didnt cover at all.
They knew enough info about it that I think they're legit, but I'm not sending them any money. When I have everything in order, I'll pay what I got in the mail, not some company that uses god-awful systems to collect money.- Caller: ambulance collection

- LynnThis company is calling me weekly. We do not answer their calls.
Thanks for the advice.- Caller: Unknown
- Sue JusticeFrom looking at their website, my guess is that they are selling alarm systems. (Listed under "other services" on their site) Here is their contact info off of their website. www.metrorural.com In case anyone wants to use it when they report them. Obviously, reporting them is the only way to get rid of the calls....they pose as a collector for a debt you don't owe...so you will be outraged or disturbed enough to call them back to set the record straight. This only confirms they have an active number and if you give them your name... well...don't! Just report them. Period. Oh, and Trudi.... sorry...we aren't all stupid. There is such a thing as "Google".

- KatI see that this number is still the ambulance company that everyone described calling them in 2008. Well this number 1-800-468-0219 has been calling me for the last month. They use to leave messages. Now they have called me twice within the last half hour, leaving no message.

- NoFool replies to This is not a scamDo not pay attention to the supposed Rural Metro post. It is a SCAM. Do not return calls and block them if possible. Do not send money. Report them to whoever will listen. I've been getting these calls for the last few weeks and I do not even know any friend or relative that this would ever apply to. Additionally, none would use my cell phone number as reference..
- WhatmymomcallsmeThey call a few times a week. Usually the # is displayed on the caller ID but today they called from a Phoenix AZ # 480-270-6300.
I have no hospital bills/doctors bills, nor have I ever used an ambulance so I know it's either a scam or they are calling for someone who does not, nor has ever lived here. I just let them go to answering machine.- Call type: Debt collector

- theflanI just bought a "pay-as-you-go" - or - "throw away" cell phone after my company implemented a policy that no longer allows Senior Executives to use company cell phones for personal communications. So while waiting for my Verizon phone to show in the mail I bought a "throw-away" cell phone. I received a call from these people saying that I owed for ambulance services. I've never been in an ambulance. They were abusive and told me not to "play any games" with them when I informed them that the number they had reached was for a brand-new "pay-as-you-go" cell phone purchased at a Wal-Mart. They told me to quit being evasive. I told them to *U@#R%&)& and hung up.

- LeoI got a phone call from this number today. I was in the ER over a month ago and did take an ambulance. I called back to see what they wanted, but the automated system asked me for payment options only. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that this is a SCAM. I have two excellent insurances (one from my mother's work, and one from my college because I'm a full-time student) and they covered ALL costs. In addition to that, the hospital got all of my information and I have yet to see a PAPER bill.

- just a girlambulance? i think not i dont owe anyone nor have i been in an ambulance
1-800-468-0219
i called them back and the lady told me she'de take my number off the call list since this is a new cell # for me .. so we will see if it stops - david h replies to yourrightSame thing here. They must be the most poorly run company on the planet. They get an "F" from the BBB of Indiana. That should tell you something.
- Mom's GuardianWhen will this end? My nephew, a lawyer who [***] out his attorney's license, to boiler room collection agencies that use strong arm collection tactics to collect debts by threatening people with jail, CPS, Sheriffs, lawsuits, is one of the bad apples that supplied the whole bunch. To make matters worse, he hired people with drug back grounds thinking they would be tougher and more street smart. The end result was that he walked and the telemarketers working for him were arrested for misrepresenting him. Either send it in the mail or you don't get paid. Most of their targets are minorities and old people who are easily intimidated.

- Max replies to AttorneyWhat can I do to stop the calls. They call several times per day and sometimes the number comes up as Portfolio Recovery. Is this the same company? I don't owe anyone money and can't understand why they keep calling when I never respond.
