Got a call too did not call them back. My bills are paid!!

I just got a call from 1-800-477-4747, and didn’t leave a massage.  It was DTE calling.  I live in a low housing apt., and I don’t have DTE.

I got the same call over 6 times today and I keep tell them tell me and stop calling me already like leave me alone  keeps calling me

Scam.  This is a real DTE number but they called me with my address info and told me they could provide a toll free number where I could pay my late bill.  By the way, representatives were on their way to shut off my power, they said.  My recent bill was paid on time and my name is not even on our account.  If you really have a concern, you can hang up and then dial the number on your bill. Might even be this number but then you initiated the call and not some auto dialer who could be impersonating your utility.

Got a call from this number saying my bill is past due.  They told me to call another number to pay my bill.
1.  My bill is not past due, or even due yet.
2. DTE will not tell you call another number to pay.
3. Called DTE and verified.
4. This number was spoofed.

However, DTE will call when past due. They do payment then and there. Yes, been late before.
Best to call DTE back using number on bill or their website.

Could also be a scam. It's happened twice that this number calls me to say my payment overdue. I do NOT press 1 as instructed. I hang up & dial the DTE number  myself. DTE rep says my account is ok. DTE number being spoofed by scammers. BEWARE!

Got an automated notice that our service would be interrupted in a half hour due to lack of payment. Was asked to call 1-800-460-2087 in order to speak with someone over our account. I just checked and our account is up to date.

Someone is spoofing DTE’s official number 800-477-4747 and asking for call backs on 800-820-7910 which is a spam number.  Don’t call it.  Trying to get your info. It is not DTE even though that’s the number they make it look like they are calling from.

It was a legitimate call from DTE. A message was left stating that power in my neighborhood was temporarily lost and then returned due to the need to make repairs to overhead lines. Legit, since I had to reset some clocks due to power outage during the night.

Do you often look up known phone numbers?

I live in Texas. Don't have any idea who DTE is. I just got a call, didn't answer.  Area code 800 have been blocked for few years now. By reading some of the report I do agree it's a scam. Beware.!!!!!

I just got a call that my power service would be interrupted next Monday, September 14 near 9 mile Rd between Pontiac and Griswold Streets.  South Lyon area?  The funny thing is that I do not even live in Michigan nor have I ever lived in Michigan.  I also have never done any business with DTE.  I live in Texas so go figure!

Called a few times and I blocked it. I have no reason for them to call me... my bill is up to dste-it's automatically paid by my bank!
I do not worry about paying my bills... my bank does that!

BEWARE OF SPOOFED NUMBER SCAMMERS

Automated call from DTE informing about tree trimming in the area.

I have a 989, I use DTE for gas up here. But I'm in the same boat as I get calls for someone I am not, and have had the phone number for 7 years.

Totally a scam! They didn’t even know my account number when I asked! All they said is have your credit card ready! Just hang up!

Call said dte was shutting down power at 5 for 2 hrs in order to safely fix outage problems in my area. I have power. This doesn t make sense.

I received a call  on my cellphone this morning from DTE  1-800-number (1-800-477-4747) that I regularly use to pay my bill.
It was not DTE, but a SCAM. Somehow these criminals have found the technology to imposter DTE's number to anyone's caller ID.
I immediately hung up when the recording told me my bill was late and service was ready be shut today if bill was not paid. I then called DTE (although actually dialed the number instead of using the Caller ID number).
The customer service representative told me they have received several calls with same complaints and confirmed that this was a SCAM call. They told me DTE would never call with a threat to turn off service.
Please let your friends and family know.  Especially the elderly adults that will be afraid their power will be turned off.
