Scam! Especially if you don’t know anyone in jail. Don’t ever give your credit card info over the phone.

No one I know is incarcerated, yet someone I don’t know wants me to add money to their account? I’m not a charity. Quit calling. No money here.

They first called from 480 378 0603 just to see if I would say "hello".  Someone in jail.  Told them to Fxxk Off, hung up.  Now they called back on this 800 484 8314 did not answer.  Thanks for this website!

Just got a call from this number shortly after getting another similar call from a different number for the same reason - collect call from prisoner and I need to set up an account.  Bull crap!  I am not giving out my private info to these SCAMMERS!  For those that are saying this is legit, you all are in on this!  I called the local jail and they told me under no uncertain circumstance should I do this!  So there you have it, SCAMMERS!

Same thing here, they called from 210/757-0099.

The 800 483 8314 just called again!  They don't give up do they.

This is Gobal-Tel Link (GTL), which is an inmate calling service. I called GTL and they were able to tell me which prison the inmate was calling from. I called the prison, explained the circumstance and they took care of it. In my case it was an inmate whom been given the wrong number for a friend. GTL customer service number is 866-230-7761

Didn’t even answer it . I called bk and it’s asking me to put money in a account or asking direct deposit or threw western union. Okay I know someone in jail but shouldn’t the call go threw at least like ring and let u know someone is calling w that number? Plz respond bk ASAP.

I went on the site to add money but I don't know what facility they are out of. The voicemail doesn't come in clear.

Seems to me if it was legit, they would at least tell you the NAME of the facility!

I got a call from 800 483 8314   did not answer they left a message asking me to put money on an account and to call them back  I do not know anyone who has ever been in jail So this has to be a scam

I had this number pop up in my call blocker. Somehow it still went through to my VM and was an automated call about someone from jail trying to call me. Earlier in the day I had a San Antonio, TX number call that also went to my VM and was also supposedly someone from jail trying to call me. I don't know anyone in jail and I've had this number for a couple of years. Either this IS a scam or someone keeps dialing the wrong number. Either way; I don't answer calls I don't know. I figure if you don't answer, nothing happens.

Same as above, automated call about someone in a correctional facility. I don't know anyone incarcerated. I did recently list a vehicle on Craigslist and suddenly these calls are coming, along with other random calls.  Next time I'll get a Google voice number for a listing.

For weeks I didn't answer this number. I was also getting a call from 973-755-7798. I let them go to voice mail. One day I was checking old voice mail and heard the recording.. this is a free 1 minute call from an inmate..... to set up a payment account for future calls, you must  make a deposit.......
My cousin had been trying to call me for weeks. I knew he was locked up and we previously spoke through an email system (J-pay), but he had been moved to a facility that doesn't use JPay. I was not aware of the change and I don't normally answer strange numbers, so I felt like a jerk for those weeks I didn't answer his call.
It's a legit service. If you dont know anyone in jail, its possible that someone locked up has a wrong number. Or maybe you just dont know that someone you know is actually in jail, LOL.
