I have been receiving calls from Pennsylvania and GTL to pay for calls for an inmate.  Not only do I not know anyone incarcerated. But they are using two numbers. 800-483-8314. and also 814-701-0183. It may be a coincidence but I gave a bad review on a seller on Ebay, and then started getting spam calls and a breach on my email.

I received a call last night with the name of the jail, which is located a couple of hours away. I think it's legit, but the person trying to call from jail had the wrong number. Way back in the 90s when I was a foster kid, two of my foster siblings had a mom in prison. The nature of the collect call and follow up were pretty much exactly like this. I think it's legit, but it could be that the bored person in jail is just calling random numbers or their "friend" gave them a bogus number because they don't want to receive the calls and pay for the calls.

After getting two calls from Punta Carta... which were possibly some prison person attempting a scam me... I got a call from this number. Since I know no one in 'the system' I'm blocking this number from future calls.
