It might be "American Education Services/Medical Professions Loan Center". I searched for this phone number in google and found this number in a publication by this organization.

I received a recorded call from "P.H.E.A.A." instructing me to call 800 548 1690.  It also said to return the call even if it was a wrong number so they could correct their records.  I didn't return the call.

said the call was regarding "Jesse Robbins", whom we don't know

American Education Services have left at least 6 messages for a man and a woman who is not at this number in ref. to Carrie Meyers, who we do not know and they state that they are trying to verify her address and phone info since she has put us down as a reference.

Caller ID not shown - I never answer or call them back but they do leave messages from American Educational Services - they call on 800.233.0557, then tell you their number is 800.548.1690 regarding  "Thelma Wasserman" (don't know this person). They call my cell and ask for me by name saying that they need to "verify my correct phone number and address"

I got the call (per VM) and they wanted my brothers phone number WTF.  So I googled their number and found out they are BS!

No message left.
My daughter has an education loan that is often late, and rather than give her own number, she gives ours. It could be that.

Woman asking for my husband.I said "why?", she proceeded to tell me he was listed as a reference for my brothers education loan. I told her she was full of sh*t  and hung up.(My brother's been dead for 10 years.)

I received a letter requesting an address verification on an unknown Lesley A. Thompson. I googled aes and found this site to post. I did not/will not contact these scammers. I wish you all success in stopping these crooks.

They are trying to collect loans that are delinquent from the deadbeats. But don't worry: those few of us suckers who are honest taxpayers will end up paying one way or another.

I do not pick up numbers I do not recognize.  Left no message, but has been calling once per day over the past week,  I owe no money to anybody, so I suspect spam or just trying shots in the dark.

These are private loans that are not backed by the government. You should really consider and reconsider your sources because they have misled you into thinking that tax money actually goes to student loan subsidisation. You probably also think that tax money goes to infrastructure and other government bureaus and police and First Responders and....

No, well, I do pay my taxes it is still; however, unconstitutional. Do a little bit more research on where taxes actually do go and maybe you'll wake up one day.  Enjoy being a worker bee

Called and left no message, so I called back and they are Educational American Services - it's a scam because once you get a "representative" the first thing they ask you for is your Social Security number!  I told them I'm on the DO NOT CALL list and I do not take unsolicited calls and that I would report their number to the FTC.

A representative from American Educational Services 800-548-1690 called me by name and asked if I would verify my date of birth so they knew it was the correct person. I paused and said are you going to tell me what you have as my date of birth or do you expect me to tell you? She said well she didn't need it for this call. Then she asked me how to get in touch with a girl I haven't seen in about 15years. I told her I haven't seen her or spoken to her in many years. Conversation ended.

If she didn't need it for the call then why did she ask?  Also if she was looking for someone else your DOB would be worthless.  I doubt that this call was anywhere close to being legitimate.

Scan,  report them to the FTC,  reference a name  from  20 years ago,  800-548-160   comes up as PHEAA on the phone

Called my cell phone at 8:44 am EST today, "Unknown" on caller ID, no voicemail left either. I see that this phone number has a long scam history so I'm glad I didn't pick up.
