I guess I would be the "company mouthpiece" as you described - if by mouth piece you mean a dedicated employee with 12 years experience who wants to make sure that only true and honest information is posted.

You cannot go to a "trophy guy in the yellow pages" and duplicate our product - you are comparing apples to oranges.  The plexi-glass mounting of a photo for the local little league that you see hanging in Beef O'Brady's from the trophy shop is nothing like the beautiful 24" x 32" mounting we prepare - its apples to oranges.  That is why we will even offer to send you your finished piece on inspection - so you can see the quality before authorizing payment.  The only way we can do that , and still be in business, is by providing only the highest quality work.

I know its easy to make claims from the anonominity of a forum - but if you can provide me with specific information, who called you and who you spoke with in customer service, I will investigate the claims and make sure that if found to be true, they are dealt with.  We cannot and will not have our employess treat anyone in that manner.  All of our calls are logged and recorded - to insure that our customers receive the high quality customer service.  If there is any such "harrassment" - it would be documented.

Please feel free to call me directly so we can resolve this situation immediately.  Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Ryan

These people are so dumb.  They scammed me several years ago and now they are leaving messages on my home phone to try again.

I was curious if anyone had ratted them out.  Pay attention to the notes above.  and search the other sites to see more...

and by the way, I'm on the Do Not Call List too.

I love reading these. It is so great that people can come on here and share their experiences. Sorry for those of you who learned the hard way, but just think of all those who have decided NOT to use this company thanks to you taking the time to share your experience. I know how sneaky these people can get. Just lame. If someone really wanted their article mounted I hope they go see their local frame or trophy shop.
    Better Prices,
    Better Product,
Helping LOCAL business, is ever a bad thing!
Will telemarketers ever learn?? We don't appreciate them harassing us. Get a storefront, website, facebook, twitter, and advertise, let the customers come to you. The willing customer will ALWAYS be more satisfied than the obligated one.

I completely agree that these people are scammers...I am in the middle of dealing with one of their classic scams...they took it upon them selves to taint the name and reputaion of a rank and file staff member, by soucing him as the person who accepted the plaque delivery.  Now I have to take up my valuable time carving and defacing the plaque with a razor blade (which I don't have), as well as calling customer service repeatedly to resolve this nuisance! By the way, interesting how "Ryan" begs us to contact him, when he does not even list a postion or telephone number.  By the way, the woman I spoke with also claims she has been with the company for 12 years...and was VERY quick to drop sales figures when defending the credibility of the company....REAL PROFESSIONAL.  I personally have not enjoyed the experience of being the "obliged" customer.....find a legitamite business!!!!!

I'm the Director of Sales nad Marketing and know of almost every single "complaint" my phone number is 1-800-548-3993, but I guess that would be a mystery because that's the number onthis website.
you may call me anytime you like give me the account number and I would happily review your account. I have been here 19 years and the recent "all complaints are within the last year" are unusual I'd say.
I started the car plaques and know for a fact you guys can't even buy a Target or Walmart frame for 35 bucks to fit 5 pages. Honestly..call me i would be happy to review any account with any REAL individuals. I'll keep blogging and let everyone know if you called

SAndy - you were right , Our old phone system wouldn't show up caller ID on some exchanges.
It's fixed now , we have a new Carrier- Time Warner and it shows up.
I apologize that we delayed in upgrading equipment so long/

    Sincerely

If you want to contact me I have phone records that would verify your situation. I would bet that you were actually being called from a company calle That's Great News. They use a predictive dialer and call center from the Philippines. We wouldn't have the neccessity to contact you that many times in one day.
I'm sorry for your experience. We are a wholly owned and operated US company that markets and manufactures wall plaques.

Pay attention to the notes above.... if you are checking out these mystery callers. I was told about these troublemakers at the insurance conference.  I only remembered the conversation, after my article ran, finally.  I got a call, within 2-3 days, just like I heard.

I was excited about my article, but $45 bucks got it framed well in town.  I can't repeat the curse-filled story I heard.... and I sure don't want to spend $200, or deal with this BS.  I'll bet no one thinks to post a story. I was just curious how bad it was.  Just as JB told me.. Wow.

Looks like a lot of drama to me.   where there is Smoke, here is fire, even if it's a single match.

I checked the # of the first guys that called my house today. sounded fishy, with congratulations and a big smile.   That report was terrible so I looked this one up too. More of the same.  How many more calls am I going to get?   I'll report back later, so others will know.

Can't you just buy this framing local?   really?

    Marc,

Hello I saw your comment on here I am the customer service manager at In The News Inc. bbrady@inthenewsonline.com.  I see your point of the drama issue and would agree with you if I only saw it in this context.  Not to through numbers out there but to understand it a little better we subscribe to every newspaper and magazine in the country it has not always been like this but over the last 22yrs we have built ourselves a nice company in Tampa.  Our track record stands alone we provide a service to all 50 states and Canada and I myself can only find a handful of issues to be resolved.  Most people are satisfied with our business and it's practices try as we might we can not make everyone happy but we do resolve every issue when possible. Thanks again and enjoy the recent sucess you have attained

I run a nonprofit. We recently had an article in the paper and two days later a company called That's Great News contacted me. A representative of theirs told me what a great job we do and offered us a plaque to commemorate the occasion. I said "great" then he went into what it would cost and if we were not satisfied we could return it. I said "no thanks, If I liked it or not I wouldn't spend %160.00 of our donors money on it". He said, "we will send it anyway"- I said, "we are not going to buy anything". The next thing I know I get an invoice. I promptly called and made sure they canceled it.

The invoice I received is from Connecticut and not Florida so I am not sure if you are even associated with them.

Hey, In The News customer service....
here is one more online complaint that you said on the phone were all made up.  you begged me to "not bother" while you worked it out.  It's been a month, Christmas was a  bummer and you are still hassling me.  I don't want your "discount" any more.... as a bribe to not post complaints.

Wow... I wish I had read this FIRST.  Exactly as reported here.  Sent me something after we talked.  a random phone call out of the blue at my home. Sounded interesting, but I thought I was "thinking about it".  This huge box just arrived in my front door about 5 days later.  Called to ask what is going on and they are sweet, until I tell them NO.  Out comes the 50% off  deals and BS and a requirement to pay big$ to ship it back.

I am making a call to the Florida Attorney general in the morning, since someone else was nice enough to provide it. I think the UPS complaint dept needs a call too. They are enabling this boiler-room.
If you are checking this before you buy, just say NO.  My wife says the same thing is available in the craft stores local.

These guys are very smooth on the telephone.  I thought they were calling my business to do business, not sell me something.  This is the new generation copier/toner scam.  just say NO and buy local as suggested above.  I spent several hours cleaning up the mess from a 7 minute cold-call/sales pitch.   Also note that there are several people that may/may not be from different companies.

They all have the same sales pitch.  They want to to accept delivery to -inspect the finisshed product-, so they can bill you un-endingly.

Received a message from these people, me know they wanted to congratulate me regarding my article.  I am so thankful, that everyone of you posted your comments warning about this company and their scam.  I am a small business owner and cannot afford to accrue any additional unwanted charges.  Also, the caller id, actually had 813.882.8886 but said to call the 800.548.3993 number back.

Thanks again for all the great posts!

Just quit posting info. These people clearly do not care about us.  Call the Florida Attorney General in Tallahasee Florida.  They told me they "have a file".

I find it interesting these telemarket operators always seem to have no complaints with the local BBB, but when you talk to someone at the state level, they know who you are talking about immediately.
