- Michele replies to manycallsGood, I'm reporting them too. Their letters are ridiculous and they are trying to instill fear in people.
- Michele H.SPAM/SCAM. From "Tax Lien Unit". Telling me this is their final demand for payment (to the IRS). Threatening that the Federal Tax Authoritie's Office and Special Deputy will commence enforcement action. * If anyone out there owes taxes, don't fall for this crap. There is an independent organization within the IRS called TAS, Taxpayer Advilocate Service and they work for free to help you with your taxes, pymt plans, etc.

- A.W.C.I keep getting letter from this scam operation regarding a tax lien that was resolved within 2 days of the original GOVERNMENT notice….I did not pay anything to the scammers. This particular fraud scheme accesses tax lien records regardless of whether or not they have already been resolved and uses that information to try to scare unsuspecting people and/or businesses to pay them instead of the real government entity that placed the lien. The mailing that I received was very suspicious because there was no return address anywhere on the mailing, the only contact information was the phone number 800-548-6036. The first mailing I received over two years ago was within the month the original lien was issued. Fortunately, I had immediately paid the IRS the disputed amount and already had the cleared check. When I called the number, the first time I received the mailing because I thought it was real and just had not updated in their system. When I started to explain the situation, I could tell something wasn’t quite right because he could not access the information about the account, the (real) IRS agent’s name or ID number, etc, etc. Do not even answer calls from these frauds or call if you get the mailers. It is completely bogus. If you have a tax issue or lien, make certain you look up the real government agency’s phone number on the official website and verify there. I don’t know how these people sleep at night.😡
