- bmI received a text message to my cell phone that my CARD was Deactivated (they did not even try to designate any card numbers) and to call 800-568-0723 to reactivate it. I'm in Kansas. The text messages shows it came from "+1" and says "Security Bank Alert". I called the number later in the day to see if I could identify anything about the origin but I only got a message saying the mailbox was full. I would love to see these folks prosecuted, this kind of scam is not humorous or trivial.
- Supa FlyThey're still at it as of 03/14/10. Same M.O. Same ph#. Couldn't get the company name, the mail box is full.

- Fraud CheckerMy whole family received: +1 Security Bank Alert : Your card has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 800-568-0723 to REACTIVATE your CARD. CB:800-568-0723. ---- It is hosted by RingCentral, Inc 999 Baker Way 5th Floor San Mateo, CA 94404 phone # 888-528-7464. After spending 20 minutes on the phone, they even gave me a ticket #, they would not tell me who had been using the #. Anybody claiming to have a business can get a toll free # through them. They have now deactivated the # but will not release the name of who was using it. RingCentral is helping to facilitate these scams for short periods of times. Be aware you will get a similar message again just from a different #, probably also hosted by RingCentral. Everyone needs to file a complaint with either your local BBB and/or with them in CA. If RingCentral can not verify a legitmate business then they don't need to be in the business. If you gave them any personal info then you need to file a police report before your credit is ruined. You can also file a complaint with the FTC and your states Attoney Generals Office.

- DanielleMe too dudeman. I don't like that the FROM # was my own. I actually called COOP Services Credit Union and their automated message says to email them at abuse@cscu.org to report these texts.

Obviously it sounds like a scam, so I searched for it online, but I'm tempted to call back... just because I want to know!
