- jbtay replies to bamboo| 11 repliesCollection Agency not on the up and up. Said I owed a phone bill from 1998 this is 2007. Told agent to give me last 4 on the social without giving mine as it is not on my credit report and is not my bill. They have taken my name and tried linking me and conning me into paying it. Agent refused to give me info I said well you called me if you cannot give me the info then I will not tell you mine. So they said the next step would be a judgement against me for the full amount. I laughed at him and told him a few choice and that if it turned up on my credit the next call would be my attorney.
- WG replies to jbtay| 10 repliesGot numerous messages, both computerized voices and real people at least 4 times, to call this number in regards to collection of a debt. So I looked up the number here and decided to call. They acknowledged that they were First National Collection Bureau, they asked for my phone number, I was reluctant to provide but finally did, and then they told me any information gathered in the phone call could be used to help collect the debt and read me the last 4 digits of a social security number which was not mine. They responded that they probably had the wrong person and hung up.
- jake replies to WG| 9 repliesthese people are annoying they called me 3 time in this week and nobody answers

- Jenna replies to Freddy| 6 repliesThey call almost every day. I actually answered this morning, but no voice was heard. It's annoying.
- Andrea replies to Jenna| 5 repliesI "googled" the number & it's for Allied Interstate (a collection agency ..?)..? They call @ least five times a day. Since I don't recognize the number, I never answer & they never leave a message. I read several posts that say it's Capitol One. I don't have a Capitol One account.
- Dave B replies to Andrea| 4 repliesThis is a debt collector Richard J. Boudreau & Associates, LLC 5 Industrial Way Salem, NH 03079 (fax) (toll-free)
- MJ replies to Dave B| 3 repliesDFS starts calling early and it doesn't stop until late in the evening! I just about had it with this compnay! I know that I have a late payment, I don't need to be reminded every hour of everyday!
- AA replies to MJ| 2 repliesI got a message left in voicemail from them also. They probably buy debts for pennies on the dollar and try to collect. It could be about a debt more than 15 years ago, I don't know. But that would be way past the statute of limitations (SOL). Sometimes these places may try to trick people into paying or try to make them feel guilty, when the debts have expired. They may even try to put it on your credit record (happened to me once) but it is illegal. A credit counselor once told me, don't try to call a credit about an old debt as the contact could restart the statute of limitations period.
- briana replies to AA| 1 replyI keep getting phone calls from this number at my job. I do not answer either. I think it is a bill collector and they are not supposed to hunt you down at your job, isn't that illegal?
