- Amanda replies to GBeckStill best to call the number on your card, don't you think?
- TBThis is legit, call the number on your bank card and tell them what happened, they should transfer you to the fraud department. The bank acknowledged they hate this method,it's super shady. Which it is. O__o
- TimI got a call from this number today. they asked for my name and phone number and reviewed with me the last 5 or so transactions on my debit. Understandably, they did seem a little weird and for weird amounts. I emailed one company I used he debit with and they told me it's normal practice to have this third party call to help prevent against fraud. I was still a little worried, so I called my bank. They said it is a 3rd party service they use that monitors for fraud. He said the only time you should be suspicious is if they start asking for your account number or other identifying in (social, birthday etc).

- MikeJust got a message asking to call this number. I am usually highly suspicious of such calls so I tried to call my bank to check, Unfortunately its Thanksgiving and they aren't open. I did some Black Friday shopping last night so I was a bit concerned. After checking here I decided to give them a call. Turns out that they are legit. They confirmed my last 5 or so purchases. All they asked for was what number I got the message on and my name, no other personal info.

CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD - Open eyesThis is a legitimate call from a fraud monitoring service, used by many financial institutions. As always, call your bank directly to verify your account. I did not answer these calls, only retrieved the information from voicemail & called my bank directly. They confirmed the activity by the fraud monitoring department, transferred me to them, and I was able to clear up the confusion inside of two questions. My card was blocked due to a high rate of fraud with the specific online retailer I was attempting to purchase from. My information was provided only to my banking representative, the fraud monitoring service asked me only to verify the recent transaction, the site it was made on, and that I approved it. Done deal, call is legitimate but not coming directly from bank.

- QueReceived two calls in two days from 402-609-5706 claiming to be my bank telling me to call 800-622-1361. It was a robo voice. Claimed to be some hokey thing called "Grand Action" department....FIRST CLUE!! Second clue: my Discover Debit card had unusual activity....I do NOT have a discover debit card. I called my bank directly to validate there was no issues with my accounts. People: do NOT call back phone numbers left by robo calls. You certainly have your bank contact info. I would recommend you make a call to a number you are certain of, not a strange number left by a robo voice. The posts up above that claim this to be a legitimate number are obviously false.
- Caller: Bank
- Que replies to SlimAgreed! You have the phone number of your financial institution. Be certain and call that number....NOT a number left by a robo voice.
- Bill in ChicagoTotal scam. this 800 call back number is located in a farm house in Alton, KS. population of 103 people.
They called me at work, but had my wife's name. they are attempting to verify phone #'s linked to accounts.- Caller: "transaction review"
- AC| 1 replyI got a call from 402-609-5706 and it sounded suspicious (belongs to First Data Corporation according to Google). It was a terrible sounding text-to-speech bot that said to call back this 800 number number to verify transactions. Instead of calling this 800 number back, I called the one on my bank's website.. and sure enough, there was indeed a flag on my account and they wanted me to verify recent transactions.
All in all.. it seemed super fishy... but it turned out to be legitimate. - Sarah BoberahTotal BS. I received two automated calls from this number in 12 hours stating they needed to verify a recent purchase. The second call was after bank hours. Nothing fishy on my account history that would seem unauthorized. Highly suspect, especially since I am a member of a credit union and they will call me within MINUTES of a questionable transaction. Complete scam.
- Caller: Transaction review dept
- Susie WeiserVisa Company said husband bank visa has been flagged and they need to go over his account to see if he made the charges on his acct ending in 1738.
- Caller: Visa comany
- AAI received a robo-call voicemail. Caller ID said "Walmart". The message said it was calling <ex-husband's name> on behalf of <my credit union> and to call 800-622-1361 to review transactions. I called my credit union. There were no transactions attempted on my account or on the MasterCard debit card. The credit union said the debit card would have been declined. They advised me NOT to return the call.
- Caller: Caller ID: Walmart, no other name given

- IllinoisianThis is a safe number. This was the callback number to a credit watchdog service serving my bank. They found suspicious charges on my debit card from: 2 from United Arab Emirites, 1 from the Netherlands, and 2 from Las Vegas. Almost $700 of charges were caught. 402-609-5706 is the number that called and left a voicemail.
- Caller: Forgot their name
- KHScam Scam Scam no unathorized transactions online!! Do not give info!!

- KH replies to ACit sure is ironic that AA and AC say number is legitimate! probably tge one calling you! Scumbag!
- JohnThey told me about a couple of transactions and asked me if I made them. They gave me the transactions in thousands of cents. Who in this country that is legit speaks like that? RED FLAG!!
- Caller: Fraud alert company
- Canny ValleyI've been harassed by robo-IRS lately, and this robo-voice is that level of bad, but they are legitimate. I've had calls from them before whenever I've done something outside my usual pattern with my VISA-- a bigger than usual charge, or the card failing to read too many times.
- ChrisVery suspicious message from someone named Chase asking that somebody who doesn't live here (Ashley Gregory) call about this number about transactions on a Visa we don't have from a bank I never heard of. Obviously a scammer.
