Got two calls from a 412 number, with "call back number" of 800-622-1361. Messages told me to call that number; they claimed to be calling on behalf of Citizensbank about suspicious charges on my Mastercard. I called Citizensbank Credit services directly; they said there were no problems with my account / no transactions were being declined or questioned / the card was not flagged by their fraud department. Very odd that they picked a card that I HAD actually just (uncharacteristically) been using; makes me wonder if this is a scam involving insiders, or whether they just got lucky, or whether CitizensBank Credit somehow doesn't let it's own fraud department know what's going on (which I suppose is also possible).

They called me shortly after I used my debit card online and I called my bank first who told me that this company is legit, they work with my bank and they called to warn me that the company I was trying to pay online ( what I used my card for ) is registered as a fraud so they tried to help me by letting me know and offering to cancel my transaction. My banker cancelled the transaction for me so I didn't have to call back this number.

This number (800-622-1361) called my work and left a message for me to call them back because there was an issue with my bank master card.  I contacted my bank and gave them the phone number and asked if it was legit.  They checked my account and said there were no issues with my card and to not call the number back.  It's a scam.

This is not a scam. They didn't ask me to provide any personal information. They just listed several recent bank transactions and asked me if it was, in fact, me. First Data Corp is a major credit card services company and they run the Star Network, which is the biggest processor of ATM and PIN-debit transactions. Caller ID reported First Data Corp with a number of 402-609-5706. 800-622-1361 is the call back number.

Legit.  They left a voicemail asking that I call back to varify some purchases.  I went online to my bank and saw there was 4 charges I did not make.  $800 dollars worth!  I called the 1800 number left on my voicemail and sure enough they wanted to varify those unusual charges.  The only info they asked me for was my phone number.  Since my card had been compromised they shut it off and said I needed to call or visit my financial institution tomorrow.

So glad my bank uses this service!!!!!!

I received a call from a 402 area code which was flagged as "Suspected Scam" from AT&T on my cell phone.  The number was 8006221361 I was to call back and verify my WesBanco debit card transactions.  I called WesBanco customer service number on back of my card and spoke to 2 different reps to make sure, and they knew nothing about such calls being legit.  One rep told me that if a call was made to alert you to fraud that they would not leave a voicemail.  This is definitely a scam!

NOT WITH MY FCU! I called my bank to check, they said it has nothing to do with them and not to call them and they logged the number as spam.

A terribly clever scam! they call about a credit card being used and giving you a warning to make sure that it's supposed to be used that way but they never say where they're from what credit cards are calling for about or anything they ask you all these questions!  And when you add ask them these details they all can only give you your name It is kind of like the scam for college loans that was incredibly clever at of Las Vegas...turn them in to FBI!!!

I received a call yesterday from 402-609-5398 First Data Corp. I could not understand the message, but picked out the name of my bank and "debit card." I'd only made one transaction on it recently, but it was to an Irish company, so I accepted it might be questioned. However, I could not understand the call back number. They called again today, and the message was identical but a bit clearer. I thought the callback number was 800-622-1261, but it didn't go anywhere. The previous return call number might have been 800-622-1461, but that was an endless Sweepstakes entry line. Goggled 800-622-1261 and landed here. It was with great relief to read the comments. I called 800-622-1361, got a nice lady who was easy to understand. She knew the phone number I was calling from, and with the last 4 digits of my card number, she verified the Irish transaction and amount. Easy. What a relief, and thanks to all who went before!

I didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail.  I was a little leary because the person leaving the message was hard to understand.   After further investigation I found that my bank account had been hacked and this number was calling to verify the fraudulent  activity.  They placed a hold on my account and instructed me to contact my bank which I did and they did verify that everything was legitimate and my account had in fact been hacked.   :(

I didn't answer when they called my cell and called using a land line. It was ERC, Enhanced Recovery Company. They are a debt collector. I block one of their numbers and they call from another. They can never tell me what I owe money for but can tell them how to make a payment. Crooks.

This is legit. They called from my bank and informed me of fraudulent usage on my account. I didn't provide any information beyond my name. They gave me the dates and times of my last several purchases, as well as the fraudulent charge.

Received a recorded call from 402-609-5706 stating that they were calling on behalf of my bank to verify recent transactions on my Visa debit card and to please return the call at 800-622-1361. I called my bank to verify if this was a legitimate call and they confirmed that it was. My bank transferred me directly to the 800# and I was able to verify the transactions through an automated system in less than 2 minutes. Also, my bank told me that there would be a hold placed on my card until I verified if the transactions are fraudulent or not. This was my experience, but I would suggest anyone that receives a call like this should call your bank first.
