If a caller uses this # to spoof their REAL #, then it needs to be reported!
Our call came in to inform us of the opening and closing dates for the H.E.A.P. Assistance Program application filing for our area of NYS. It's one of the few Real courtesy calls, and it Can help people in need.
** The problem is that the CID just read "8006424272" as the caller, No legit info as to "H.E.A.P. Assistance Info." or "National Grid/Customer Service". I don't answer those kind of calls on our regular phone, I just let our 'puter block them for us. It came in on our Fax line anyway, but I DO monitor the calls that come in there, too.
When I read the posts here and Googled the # for myself, I got the National-Grid info, and then the H.E.A.P. dates. Simple, no big deal, nothing for anyone to get their panties in a twist over. It's actually one of the good things National-Grid is doing for their customers, considering all the $$ we give them.- Caller: National-Grid/customer-service

- RitaMy friend was robbed $250.00, she was camping and they called her cell number and said they were going to shut the electric off at her business unless she sent the money. SCAM
- Dave replies to Mike| 2 repliesIt's National Grid, they have a RIGHT to call you if you are a customer, as you CHOOSE to do business with them. The Do Not Call list is not for companies you do business with.
- Dave replies to BelleHave you ever gotten a disconnect notice from them? I think they call people who are occasionally late with their bills to "remind" them that it is due.
- ThereseHad 2 calls from this number on my cell phone. No messages left.

- Dr Evan Mitchell Stark PhDI INITIATED the call that number, as I have before.
I got the same robot I always get. He started to give me my balance. This time, I listened to the entire tree.
He asked nothing about money.
So I said, "representative," and he connected me to customer service, who also asked me about getting HEAP, because I was on a program for poor people and they saw I didn't have HEAP. The tranferred me to a woiman who said she noticeed I didn't have HEAP, and gave me phone numbers for social service help organizations. I called all of them, and they were legit and told me that number was legit. Whenever I have an electricity issue, I call that number. Money never comes up; I mean they never ask me for money or things that would get money from me to a scammer. They're definitely Naational Grid. They leave voicemail about work being done in my area, and the next day, there's a National Grid truck across my street.- Caller: National Grid

- RuthCaller ID said National Grid, said they were shutting electricity off because of non-payment, which is impossible because my bills say they have been paid. Wanted payment over the phone and a refund would be issued in 24 hours when they find the error. Called the ACTUAL customer service number from my bill and they said my bill was up to date. SCAM

- JeffA legit number from National Grid, although it said "Unknown Caller" as the ID. No message left and when I called back it was National Grid. I am not sure why they did not leave a message; however when I called back the customer service rep said they were taking lines down in my area and I could be without power for a short time. First time they ever did that. No information was exchanged and I did lose power for only an hour.

- MidNYteStormThe problem with calls like this is that there have been reports in the news about a scam that involves a caller claiming to be with National Grid saying that money is owed. At this day and age of telephone scams, I do not believe people should automatically take a caller at their word. Especially when you consider the use of caller id spoofing.

- Geralt of RiviaLegit number from Nation Grid, it is the same number printed on me bill.
I keep getting calls from the, literally like 4, 5 calls in the morning. Called back on a separate phone to make sure they are not scammers.
Apparently paying your bill ON TIME is NOT good enough for these [***] tards, because if you pay it online it will take 3 days to post so they keep spamming my phone as "a reminder". I paid my bill via their website on time, if they don't receive the money 3 days later because they choose to use a 3rd party (western union) to handle their payment, it is not the customer's fault.
Basically they want to remind you that all their customers need to pay their bill 4 days early to account for the incompetence.
