Caller called our answering service.  When I called them back on Monday morning he said that he normally talks with business owners or CEO's.  Well, there is no way I'm gonna pass a sales call on to my boss.   Just talking with the guy... I got a bad creepy feeling like it was a scam or that they were trying to sell leads.

Received a call from Ridgid Building Systems (Mocha Fuller) regarding upcoming projects in my area. I googled them and got here. Thanks for the warning. I called them and left a message that I was not interested in doing any business with them.

Called my cell phone ( Mongo Edwards )and proceeded to ask me question after question about my company and my ability and interest in erecting metal buildings for them. After three minutes of enduring "Mongo" reading questions off a cue card, I told him that I don't do business with scam operators ( I was at my computer while we he was on the phone, reading warning after warning )and he hung up after muttering an insult ( F.... ... ).

I listened to Mongo for several minutes as he read off of his cards. They wanted $4950 for a "buildership" for Ridgid Building Systems. I told him to send me the information for which he wanted $30 for him to send it UPS. You make the call.

Same as above. Called a subcontractor of ours wanting to know if they were interested in upcoming project. The catch (if this helps anyone) they didn't do their homework before calling. They called an electrical contractor and not the GC (which is us) I googled and came to this place and after reading everyone's messages and them calling an electrical contractor about a metal building I'd say this is def a scam. Thanks you guys

I received a call from Rigid Building Systems about a year ago now.  After listening to their pitch, I was intrigued.  I did some research on the company and it seemed legitimate.  So, I took the plunge after much consideration and some reluctance.  I paid my $4950.  Dumb mistake.  I did my training down in Houston at their headquarters.  I even purchased and constructed one of their buildings.
I know and saw first hand that it is a legitimate corporation.  I am not trashing the company's legitimacy here.  I am trashing their marketing strategy to bring on any company that is willing to pay their $4950, and have a few good references.  They do complete an application process and a few over the phone interviews.
It was a big mistake for me, and I WARN anyone considering taking on something like this who has not had much experience with steel buildings.  They seem to care little about their "Authorized Builder" previous experience, and this is my own fault for taking on such a huge project like this for such a small company as mine.

Mike - 16 Mar 2009 has Rigid right on.  Unfortunately for Mike, he was their perfect target market.  Other than time, they have not received any money from me.  In my research, I was unable to find a satisfied contractor.

I received a call from "Heather" saying they had projects in the area and were looking for contractors like myself.

I googled them and also ended up here.  Something that sounds too good to be true is usually too good to be true.  I think contractors might be more susceptible than usual to this type of call, given the stagnant building climate in Hawaii.

I received a call today asking for my husband. Being his wife and secretary, I asked if I could take a message for him. The sales person explained that my husband and I's company had been referred to them to do work in our area. Having had calls like this in the past, I explained that we do soil conservation work (terraces, levees, drainage tile, etc.) for local farmers, and that we did not do building construction. He stated that that was fine and left his phone number and extension for my husband to call him back. Having a feeling that there was something to this phone call (he didn't even have our company's name correct) and having the phone number on our caller ID, I didn't write down the number. Then he asked me to read the number back to him so he could make sure that I had "gotten it right." I told him to give it to me again. He then proceeded to yell at me for not writing the number down. I explained that I screen my husband's calls because we get a lot of bogus calls and I don't waste his time with bogus messages. That really set him off. He asked, "Why would you say this is a bogus call!" and then rudely replied that if I wasn't a capable secretary that could take a simple number down, he would find another one that could with another company in our area. I said be my guest before hanging up. I decided to google the phone number that was on our caller ID and wound up here.

Tim Duggins with Rigid Building "wanting to do work with contractors in our area". This is a metal building scam. You have to pay them to be added as a contractor. We have repeatedly told them we are not interested. They still call and ask for the boss by name. I can't figure out why because he always tells them off and hangs up on them. Please people ... stop falling for this stuff and we can put these people out of business.

Just rec'd a phone call from this number by a guy named Mitch.  He claims to be with Rigid Commercial Builders.  He wanted to know if we did business in our local area and asked for an estimator to give him a call back.  He wasn't exactly rude nor friendly.  He spoke a bit too casually to be considered a business call.

Got a message from Tim Duggins from Ridgid Building Systems today, this message had SCAM written all over it.

From just a 30 second voice mail I could tell the guy was trouble, so I Googled them just to see if my instincts were right, and wound up here.  Glad this website exists.  Ridgid Building Systems sounds like nothing but trouble.

I find it odd that none of you have actually done work with Rigid. If this was a scam wouldn't there be a whole slew of unhappy customers on here? Granted it sounds like they employ some poorly qualified phone staff. But in reality all but one of you are basing your entire opinion, not to mention slandering a company’s name based entirely off of at most one phone call. I am not familiar with this company, but if you look at any other scam site, it is riddled with people who have lost all their money. This site is filled with people who seemed uncomfortable with at most one phone call or message. I don't know, but if I were to guess I would say all but one of you don't actually know what you are talking about.

Rigid is the only legitimate company listed on this website.

It's odd that this website is sponsored by steel building links that are not legitimate companies. They are resellers and brokers.

I have erected Rigid Buildings in the Western Region for many , many years. I've been to their Factory in Houston, TX. They are a great company and engineer and manufacture one of the best quality steel buildings in the Industry. I've made alot of money constructing their buildings.

Talk with the Sales management there and get the right information.
