- Donald| 5 repliesi had a lot of apple spoofs; pop ups my safari brower being sent to "apple support" number, some showing my IP address and location, others saying I had a serious problem; I believe i finally got to an apple site that had a lock and TM at bottom of site as Apple; they called back using the 800 692 7753 and sent an email @email.apple.com 800 MY APPLE which when googled seems to belong to Apple and Apple Store; any information that number is not Apple?

- BWL| 1 replyIf you look at keypad this number does spell 1-800-MY-APPLE, BUT official number for Apple is 1-800-694-7466 (1-800-MY-IPHONE). THIS NUMBER IS A SCAM AND WILL NEVER CALL YOU, YOU HAVE TO CALL APPLE!!!

- indigo replies to DonaldAnytime you have doubt, hang up and call Apple back directly at 1800myapple. If you are talking to a real Apple representative, they will give you a case number you can use when you call back and accept your decision. If they are a scammer they will argue and try to get you to not hang up. Apple doesn't call outbound unless a customer scheduled a callback request, or if they are in the middle of assisting you with something and the call drops they try to call back. They *never* send you pop ups! 90% of emails claiming to be from Apple also are scams, I work in phone service and still get at least 3 scams claiming to be Apple every day in my personal email.
