This is from Comenity Bank and at least for me it was because I forgot to make a payment on my Maurices card. It was totally my fault. But they are legit.

I got a call and I did not return it, thinking it was a scammer. But, I just looked at my Torrid credit card statement that came in the mail, and I have an overdue balance. Torrid is through Comenity bank. I guess that's why they were calling.

Checked the US registry for spam and scam reports, this number is reported as of 12/14/16 as a scam. If you are unsure of your cc balances, the best thing you could do, is go through your customer service rep on the back of the bank card or statement and verify with them. If you are over due they will send you a paper statement to reconcile the negative balance. Never give out your cc info.

They called numerous times and I hung up. It turns out that I had forgotten to pay my Peebles credit card and I was being charged something like $30 for a late fee. I was actually glad they called me because I didn't realize I owed them anything. I think their late fees are crazy, but if I hadn't gotten that call I might have been charged another late fee.
By the way, Peebles sends out coupons like 50% off everything. Then when you get to the store they explain that the sale only applies to items that DON'T end in '5'. Practically everything in the store is $10.95, $20.95, $24.95, etc. I am never shopping there again.

Just got a call from this number 614-212-7530  regarding a matter of personal importance and to call this number
800-695-1063 from Comentiy Bank this is a scam. Called today on a Sunday 1/15/17.  My advice is to call the retail store credit card number directly on your statements if they're thru Comentity Bank and see if there is an issure with your account. I just checked all my accounts no issues.

This is not legit call. They appear to be scammers designed to scare people and in their anxiety call them back and provide their private information.  The message above is also a possible scam. Do not believe. Be careful. The one you save from these unscrupulous guys is yourself.

This is a scam. All you people that say it is legit are not talking about the same thing. I called the number and after welcoming me to Commenity Bank they asked for my card number so I hung up. I have never herd of them and have no credit cards other than Master card or Visa SO WHY ARE THEY CALLING ME?
    SCAM!

it is from Comenity bank which represents alot of companies that issue their own credit card...i looked them up online and found i had placed an order this past Christmas for my wife from Venus and used their own card instead of the usual way i pay...i was past due as i signed up for paperless and never saw the email.  i paid right away....your choice...look them up online to see the full list of credit cards for companies they represent...then when you find one you bought from within 90 days, go to the actual companies web page and i bet you find a credit card you forgot with a small balance on it...

It is a legitimate call...just had it happen to me on a valid credit card account.  I admit I was a bit freaked out because of all the cyber crime these days.  I had a past due balance with Talbots, one of the many companies that Comenity is associated with. The email statement had been sent to me in early January and I didn't see it among all the other junk in the inbox.  Payment was a week past due.  I called Talbots to verify and the very kind representative reassured me that it was legit.   When in doubt, call the credit card company!

    It is legit.

The call didn't come from this number, but the message asked me to call that number back.  I had a little trouble getting the rep to tell me something that would verify her identity (verification is not a one-way street, guys), and finally settled for the fact that she knew what kind of card I had.  Once she had enough to verify me, she correctly indicated my balance and the due date (verified on the Comenity page linked to from the store's Web site) I had somehow missed, so I now know she's legit.  I paid the balance due online.

My only complaint is that I lost several days because their robots kept calling me at awkward times expecting me to remember the number to call while I'm running for a bus or whatever.  They should call from the number they want you to call back so it will be in the log.  Or, didn't they ever hear of texting?

Got 2 calls from this number yesterday. Called them back to hear that they were having computer problems. When I did finally get through they asked me to put in my account number. I hung up. If there is a problem they shouldn't need my account number.

They called me and left a message of extreme personal importance and when I called me from (614) 212-5166 and told me to call  800-695-1063 with no name of company or individual and since the numbers did not match any of my accounts and they did not indicate who they were, I ignored it.  They proceeded to call me from UNKNOWN CALLER  WITH NO PHONE NUMBER for over 10 days between 3 - 6 times a day and because I was traveling it was sometimes in the middle of the night.  The let it ring 3 times and hung up, so even when I tried to answer, there was no way to call back because there was no phone number or message, I couldn't even block it from my cell phone.  Also because I had a family member in the hospital I was watching my phone and these repeated harassing calls were very annoying.   Finally on the 10th day I decided to answer and the lady told me they were comenity bank for Pier 1 account.  I said to her, so you are the one calling me for 10 days and hanging up and said to her that if they were Pier 1 why did they not leave me a message to call them so I could have responded immediately and resolve any issues if necessary.  She was extremely rude and told me that it was against the law to leave a message.  I told her that was not true as any of my other creditors politely leave me an issue if there are any questions and at least leave me a phone number.  She continued to be extremely rude and said I owed a payment (which I knew I did not) and that she wanted a payment on the phone).  She wanted payment info from me in order to keep my credit from having a problem.  I told her that it was impossible to be late on my payment and that I would go back online to verify and if that was true I would take care of the issue immediately online.  I also told her (because she was so rude) that credit card companies to not treat their customers so rudely and not only that she called and hung up on my phone between 3-6 times per day and it was not only irritating, but non-professional.  She immediately raised her voice and told me that I needed to make a payment immediately.  (As a long-time lender, I knew she was full of BS because I was not late and she was unethical) .   I felt that she just wanted my banking info and this was a scam.  She continued to be rude and babble on why she did not leave a message as it was illegal  and I ended by yelling at her (because she did not listen and tried to intimidate me into paying the bill on the phone)  I yelled and said, well this is my 5th time telling you that it is fine to call me anytime during regular hours of the day and leave me a message even if it is just who you are and your phone number ...BUT NEVER EVER CALL ME AND HANG UP!!!   She rudely said to me "well are you going to make a payment now...and I told her since you are recording this message, you can verify that I already explained what I was going to do and I think immediately means "now" correct? She said well you did not say "now".  By this time I made my point and knew for sure she was not Pier 1...they would never talk like this...so I again said DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN AND HANG UP.  IF YOU WANT TO TALK TO ME, PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE WITH AT LEAST WHO YOU ARE AND A PHONE NUMBER. She kept right on babbling while I was talking, trying to argue this subject out..  This was about a month ago, I checked my account... and sure enough I did not owe Pier 1 any payment.  So here I am a month later and I see the same phone number on an original call asking to call the same 800 phone number.  Same first message, same UNKNOWN CALLER FOR THE LAST 5 DAYS.  I wish there was a way to stop these calls...I usually have a way to block these callers because they leave a phone number and when you look them up, they are scammers.  This time I got wise and looked up the original phone call number..and to no surprise...same harassing group.

This is actually Comenity Bank. I have an Eddie Bauer credit card through them. They were calling about my card, but I was initially suspicious because those calls usually state the name of the person they are calling, and this call did not. But, like I said, this turned out to be a legitimate call.

I've had these calls also. If you have questions you can call 1-800-675-5685 that is on the Comenity bank's site under customer service. Or go to the bank's site yourself. I never just enter anything until I hear a human....lol
