- Dizzy old BlondeI also recieved a letter from them. It had HUMANA on the paper in bold Letters and that was under my name.
I did not think that people could try to collect on Medical expences that are in the rears.
I do not owe any Credit Cards or anything like that. My credit score is way over 750.
I noticed this letter did NOT have the address of the attorney's. It only had a phone number to contact them. It also spoke of Trover Solutions. (suppose to be a partner of Humana.) I don't have Humana anymore!!!
The signature was from a S.S. Quaye
If you look even further it states that Humana is a Medicare Advantage organization and stand-alone prescription drug plan with a a Medicae contract. All phone numbers on this entire letter are the same. 1-800-765-5247
BEWARE!!!! This is not from Humana or Attorneys that represent them in solvingi medical information claims. Humana takes care of it's own claims and if you wish to dispute something, a Humana consultant will call you personally, or you can file against Humana - It does not require Attorneys in any manner.
It is NOT legal to have a collection agency to collect on Medical charges.

- sleepybear| 2 repliesIts not a scam. just called BCBS they said sometimes the dr will put in a code for services. And they have to make sure no 3rd party insurance info is needed. I called the number, the lady just asked where my injury occurred. so its legit...
- JessicaI received 3 letters as well. Signed Rebekah McGuire Dye saying they will report to my medical provider (which they had correct) that I " am not going to comply with your health plan obligation". Goes on to state I have a "contractual obligation" blah blah. So I clicked the website link and its pretty official looking but I'm not stupid. I'd NEVER voluntarily post my address and medical info ONLINE. I don't care who they are. Besides my "medical condition" they are so concerned about was the flu. How can you possibly pin that on anyone? If this was legitimate, they should know the "medical treatment". SCAM.

Contact your health insurance fraud department... "Troversolutions.. are violating our health care privacy!!! They are an "third party- independent company. Contact your lawyer and-
Contact your health care provider only. I contacted my health carrier BCBS. They are wondering & questioning the letter I got and "BCBS" "have no idea" why I had received a letter by Troversolutions which is being run by a partnership with a ""law firm called"">> Gibson & Sharps. ~ 1800-865-3882)!!!!... Hmmmm HIPAA law... Hmmm.
I ask of everyone to be careful... don't give out personal information.. > Get private attorney!!!!
Beware of scams. - michelle replies to timI just received a letter from Gibson & Sharpe about a past bill on my son which has been paid in full. If u think about it your Insurance provider should or would already have your personal information on u once you applied for insurance with there company. If u try to call that number on that letter they are trying to sell you something. I truley believe this is a scam.
- MattIn general, this company works for many insurance companies, attempting to find additional information, i.e. secondary or even primary carriers to pay for medical services those hiring companies must pay. I have BCBS Texas and every claim is challenged. Yes, it's in your health insurance contract to give requested information to make sure the appropriate company pays for your care. I know it's irritating, but you contracted to allow this when you signed for the insurance. I did have a provider bill my BCBS when the claim was Work Comp. By complying, you help keep your premium costs down. But then, my health care premiums last year were 14 grand.

- Matt replies to KamlaTrover Solutions (and other names) subrogation specialists investigate health insurance claims to see if their client has to pay your claim or find out if any other insurance can be held responsible so they don't have to pay. They look for things like did it happen at work, do you have any other insurance, etc. Yes, you need to answer questions as the contract you signed to obtain the health insurance has the clause in it where you will provide info when requested. It really irritates me the way they work, but it's supposed to help keep my premiums down. Last years insurance premiums 14K does not include life ins.
- EX-Trover Employer replies to AnonThey do have direct access to your medical information because your healthplan or your employer plan (Insured or Self funded ) contracted with this company to handle their subrogation of claims. They will get an electronic feed from your health plan of certain trauma related codes that could be the direct cause of an accident. That starts the investigation process by this company. If it isn't work or accident related, tell them and they will close their file. But it is illegal in most states for your health insurance to pay accident related claims in which there is other primary insurance such as auto and/or workers compensation that should be billed first.
- AudreyMy mother (who is deceased) received both mail and phone calls and I didn't answer either one -- just got another letter today. The insurance co knows that Mom is deceased -- they stopped sending monthly premium bills. So, if these people are working for the insurance co, why don't they know she's gone???
- Joe from Jersey| 3 repliesI received 2 letters for separate claims and here's what I did... looked up Trover in BBB listing. They're rated A+ so quite a bit of legitimacy right there. Called the toll-free# > gave the event#'s > when asked for personal info I verified ONLY my name and explained that the claims in question were definitely NOT the result of any accident or injury > the associate totally accepted that without any objections, said she would note it in my file so I wouldn't receive any further correspondence on these claims > DONE!

- Jen replies to Joe from Jersey| 1 replyActually, they are not BBB accredited and have many complaints against them.
- DanI received a letter from them and I think its an absolute scam. I think the way it works is Trover's solutions is an outsourcing consultant firm that handles any intervention covered by BCBS whereby that intervention may be covered by another insurance company or a different company. Its a way for BCBS to attempt to trim their fat and not cover things that might be accident or work related to decrease spending and increase their revenue. Gibson and Sharps are partners with Trovers to try and strong arm people into submitting information that makes any traumatic event seem like it was attributable to something else. Please note the manner in which the questions are posed and framed on their website, also note their unavailability at certain times of the day to try and reach them by phone and pigeonhole the person entering information into their website.
Thanks for everyone that posted it was extremely helpful for putting the pieces together.- Caller: Trovers Solutions
- Ralphie replies to JenActually, the person you're responding to didn't claim that they were BBB accredited in the first place, but that they had an A+ rating with them.
Which is something I doubted so I just looked it up...sure enough they have an A+. and 21 complaints, all 'closed' . Personally I don't know how that gets them an A+. Any place associated with lawyers should probably top out at a C- so I'm suspicious myself.
Here's what I'm doing tomorrow during business hours: ...calling my insurance company instead of Trover, to see if they are authorized (can't find any info on my insurer's website on Trover one way or the other). Then I'll ask for some sort of documentation that this is the case (something in writing other than a customer service person telling me it's fine). If I can't get that, Trover won't hear back from me. - Geronimo replies to Mrs. A.| 2 repliesYou, ma'm, are an idiot.
- Current employee| 2 repliesUmmm - we work for your health plan it's true! Just call them and ask and you will be transferred too us from their own representatives

- Karen M, TXI am getting letters from Trover after almost every claim I make! It is harassment to me, and a ploy for Blue Cross to hang on to their money. Today's letter from Trover is asking same questions as always, for an accident or injury. This claim was pre-approved by BCBS, operated on Feb 3, paid half the claims already and this letter references the hospital!!!!!'
How can a person deal with such nuisance!

- DBThis is legitimate.
They're just a company hired by your health insurance company to check to make sure your injuries weren't due to a car accident or event where another insurance company is liable. I've had to do this before, when I broke my arm (did the same thing this time - I never said I was a ballerina... ;)) Your doctor/emergency room doesn't give the "what happened" info to the insurance company. These folks just want a short description of where it happened and what happened. At any rate, then the INSURANCE COMPANY (in my case BCBS TX) contacts the other payer and works to get the charges paid by the appropriate insurance.
They're not trying to deny you service or make YOU pay.
While it seems kind of scary when you're hurt and had big medical bills, it's just the way big business works and they're gonna call you if you don't answer the letter, so you may as well. I think not responding would be the worse choice. I fell down. I wasn't doing anything but walking. I have nothing to hide. I filled their form out online and I'm glad I took care of it.- Caller: Trover Solutions on behalf of BCBS TX
- Biil KThey represent BCBS of Illinois ...I have dealt with them for years..If you have any type of medical condition or visit a hospital for whatever reason, they work as a liaison for BCBS. if your injury was due to an accident or work related they go after the counterparty to make BCBS whole for any bills they may have paid on your behalf for medical benefits

- Momclp replies to Joe from JerseyWhen I called them the man I talked to told me he would note that I was uncooperative on my file when I tried to only tell him my name and event number. He was very rude and threatening. So I have not tried to call again but have received 2 mor letters and a letter from a lawyer. I e-mailed BCBS and they said I have to talk to them, but when I called BCBS they said I don't have to. This is so annoying.
- CTS in PA replies to Gene| 2 repliesI just received a letter that was written to my mother from Trover Solutions, about a car accident that occurred on New Years Day, 2014. Assuming it was a scam, I called the insurance provider (Keystone 65) who verified that Trover does, indeed, work for them as a third party claims recovery entity. While that was comforting to a point, I was still bothered quite a bit, seeing as how the date listed in the letter for the car accident was 3.5 years AFTER my mother had died. I then called Trover, got the usual non-human, typed in my event number and answered one simple yes/no question about whether she had been in an accident and had received benefits that could have been paid by some other company. I answered "no." (How would I know that another company was responsible anyway?) The automated voice then told me that was all the information they needed at this time and the call was automatically terminated. Trover Solutions may work for Keystone, but something still seems very fishy.
