- Dre| 1 replySpammer? Scammer? It's a suspicious call.
- Caller: Spammer / Scammer
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to DreSuspicious? Sort of like you spamming the thread under the screen names Jr. and Dre?
- BigA replies to Fed UpI find it interesting that you only chose to print part of that plagiarized, copyrighted article. Why is that and why should we believe a criminal-yes, plagiarizing material is a crime. The true story is that they simply recoup their expenses for collecting and processing the blood at no profit. Common sense would tell you that they would not be able to stay afloat otherwise. This was a real hatchet piece done by a college student who chose a title to throw off what was really in it. https://otenews.com/blood-donors-arent-gettin ... -is-being-sold/Quote:“We operate on a cost recovery basis, not profit,” said Peters. “We supply approximately 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply. In order to recover the cost of recruiting blood donors and testing of blood, we recover that cost by being reimbursed by hospitals.”
The Red Cross spends that money on recruiting donors, testing blood and paying staff, said Peters. - PowermomCalled, said Red Cross and asked for my daughter who hasn’t lived here in at least 15 years.
- Caller: Red Cross.
- Troy| 1 replyI got a call from 800-733-2767. I didn't recognize the number, there was no caller id, so I didn't answer. No message was left, so the caller wanted to be anonymous. This repeats the myriads of scam calls I have received. My advice - Beware.
- Caller: Scammer
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to TroyGood thing other people have answered the call and now we know that it really isn't a scam call as it is the Red Cross looking for blood donations.
- Dr. J| 1 replyI didn't recognized the number so I didn't answer. The scammer did not think the call was important enough to leave a message, so they didn't.
- Caller: Scammer
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to Dr. JThen you think that the American Red Cross is a scammer because they are looking for blood donations?
- Anthony| 1 replyIt is the American red cross in need of donations.
- Caller: American Red Cross
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Anthony replies to AnthonyThere is a disease and going on war right now so platets and blood is needed
- Howard| 1 reply2 unsolicited calls. If I didn't answer the first call, why make a second call? No message either time. (No message saying why they called. No message reminding me of anything. No message announcing anything. So, I can only assume a scammer.) Maybe this number has been spoofed, as it is certainly acting like some one trying to run a scam.
- Caller: Scam
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to HowardThe number traces back to the American Red Cross. They could be looking for money or blood donations. The number could also be spoofed. I guess we will never know because everyone is scared to death to answer the call and find out since it is much easier to run for the hills screaming "Scam!".
- RAmerican Red Cross confirming blood donation appointment. I do have an appointment, so this call was actually them.
- Caller: American Red Cross
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- A JamesThey called on Easter Sunday! That is asinine. I'm giving at the community blood bank or connect life from now on and I'm blocking this number.
- Caller: Red Cross
- Call type: Valid
- David Dillon| 1 replyAfter I got a call from 800-733-2767, I couldn't get my iPhone to delete the call or to block the number. It's like that number took over that function on my phone. What can I do?
- Caller: Red Cross
- Call type: Valid
- BigA replies to David DillonWell, you could hope and pray that someone might stop by and tell you what you need to know and also that they are telling you the truth or you could call your phone company's tech support and ask them. I hope you make the right choice!
- Goodchem3208Text message that was supposedly from the Red Cross concerning donating blood gave this number to call back. It's a scam to get you to call a marketing research firm.
