- office galthe person asked to speak to A/R I said concerning? He said an invoice. I said what company. He repeated my company name!? I said what company are YOU calling from He said PNC I said oh well we did work a few years ago for a PNC but we don't have any invoices from you. He said nothing. silence. He said oh well I have an invoice. I said for what exactly? (we are a general contractor folks so I had to be sure where I needed to route this call) He said oh. I asked if he was calling the right company in the area (there are a few) he said yes and I said well we are not doing any projects for your company at moment. He said do you accept credit cards. Im thinking FOR WHAT? we don't pay our customers to build- they pay us?) then I realize that its prob a payment processing company. And he asks again (Like pulling teeth to get any info from this person. only one or 2 word sentences). I finally say No we do not accept credit card payments for any work -our clients are large companies that pay through the banks funding the project. Oh ok thank you and he hangs up. ***What a doofus!!

- Rick LesmineScam call about credit card rate reduction. That's bad enough getting these during the week but now they're scamming us on weekends also? I can't decide who I hate more: the scammers, or the Federal govt and the phone company for allowing this to continue.

- Curious| 2 repliesCurious so I answered. Robo call on credit card interest reduction. Still curious so I pressed 1. Nice young lady answered and I asked what this call was for. She said to reduce interest rate on my Visa/Mastercard credit card. I asked her which card? She named every major bank there was..... EXCEPT for the bank whose card we use. Politely told her thanks but I don't carry a balance.

- Mike replies to susanEvery call these scammers make to a voicemail service eventually becomes THOUSAND$ of money THEY WA$TE. ALSO REMEMBER TO NEVER CALL THESE CROOKS BACK!!!
- Ted replies to Curious| 1 replyThe second you pressed "1"--you:
a) Unwittingly made yourself a "mark" for the scammer group--who auto dial thousands of residential phone numbers, looking for potential suckers to scam. By pressing "1", you got put on a "directory" for scammers .
b) Possibly ( without your knowledge or consent ) gave the scammer group CONTROL OF YOUR PHONE ACCOUNT, so they CAN freely dial all over the world--and YOU pay for it!! Might be a wise idea to carefully monitor your long distance section of your phone bill for numbers YOU didn't call.......
Be smart and NEVER CALL THESE NUMBERS BACK!!
Your ONLY defense? ALWAYS LET YOUR VOICEMAIL SYSTEM TAKE THE CALL; they hang up on it, you'll know they are scammers!! - JimI always let my answering system take the call. This particular number had the scammer sigh and whisper "goddamitt" before they hung up; the guy must be having a crappy day......
