- Angry as Hell replies to deleted post| 1 replyChances are you were just scammed. By threatening or stating they had a complaint if violation of FDCPA. Did you get proof from them of the debt? How did you pay them? Call your bank or credit card and stop the payment before they take and you are unable to get $$ back. Hope you did not pay via western union or green dot..
- Robert replies to deleted postI received that call from the 8007719262 (Recovery Mediations) from a woman named Amanda. She was claiming that a harassment phone and court pending I needed to show up or pay it. I knew it was a scam. Google the company = nothing. Look up the number = nothing. If it is an old debt AND it is more than 7 years old in California, you can either call and settle the debt for less OR tell them to KMA. They only sue after 4 years, of course they could sue you anyway however, after 4 years the case has NO bearing. show up to court to have it dismissed forever. They ONLY summons you in person or by authorized carrier. NOT by phone! do NOT by had by these crooks. I would have gladly settled for a penny on a dollar but nothing more. they wanted to be greedy so I told them to sue me or stop calling. Check these notes and beware that even the scammers post here TOO!
- INVEST0123| 1 replyAfter reading all of your posts on this page I find it rather sad that all of you fell for this scam and made payments to these people. This company or whatever you wish to call it is not even a company. They are 2 people who harass people such as yourselves into believing that your old debt is valid.
For starters before you pay these people anything and I mean anything run your credit report!!! If the debt they are claiming you owe is not on your credit report, you do not owe them a thing. If the debt they are claiming you owe is from 10, 15 years ago and they threaten you and say they are going to see you in court if you don't pay don't be fooled.
In order for them to even remotely see you in court a couple of things have to happen first. 1- They must by law serve you with papers by a process server with a summons and complaint and give you time to answer. For those who do not know an answer is it is a written statement in reply to the papers (summons & complaint) the process server serves you with to start the litigation process and eventually obtain a judgment against you. When a creditor has a judgment against you it goes on your credit report people as well as any type of collection debt.
If you have an old debt like these people say that they are trying to collect on check your state statutes most run out after 6/7 years. This is a scam and if you paid these people already you must must seek an attorney and start an action against them. I am in the process of doing so and am reporting them to BBB/General Attorney Office and the law firm they claim they work for. I feel so so so bad that all of you that paid these people are victims here and the ones that posted positive feedback are the ones that work for this so called "company"!!!!!!!! Do not do not be fooled - Angry as Hell replies to INVEST0123Good post here.. The only thing is they did not fall for the scam they are SHILLS. We just need to make sure we inform the uninformed so that they can read thru the SHILLS!
- Angry as HellAS normal to scammers/shills they create a company name that resembles an actual company.. Only one listed is a 12 step program.. I will post a quote from it that fits:
VICTIMIZATION
"Within each of us lies the power of our consent to health and to sickness, to riches and to poverty, to freedom and to slavery. It is we who control these, and not another."
Richard Bach
To all that are victims: Remember we are in control not them! - Resident47 replies to deleted postYou were so glad to pay in a hurry without a fight toward a debt that you never incurred. I'm so sure ...
Comm-prop state laws can vary, but you should be able to equitably distribute debt assets in or out of court. This is to say it's possible to shunt the debt obligation to whoever actually racked up the debt and/or the spouse who enjoyed the greater benefit from the loan. As an alleged veteran of The 'Stan I doubt you have so much loose money that you can afford any donations to a nameless collection agency which hasn't validated to you. - 800AdminWARNING: Someone has been posting fake comments to this thread pretending to be different people who dealt with this debt collector.
