- cell phones on do not call list| 1 replySeriously? On a Saturday morning?!
I've got two cell numbers, a Verizon for data and a T-mobile for voice/text/data.
Luckily T-Mobile listed 1-866-772-1219 as a scam and I blocked it. So no voice message.
But on Verizon, from called ID 1-800-772-1213, this message was on my phone: "“From you before we proceed further with suspension of your social and assets please press one to speak to the officer I repeat press one to speak to the officer right away thank you…"
Looks like these scammers have a bank of toll free numbers.
Infuriating. And the reason it has not been fixed is because both political parties use telemarketing. And both parties get campaign contributions from the phone businesses that get paid for this crap. Disgusting.
All it would take is the legal requirement of a locked down called id and make the phone carriers liable for failure to check their customer's identification. Just like they require banks to make certain their customers are legit.
At this point, I send almost all calls to voice mail because of the level of spam/scam calls.- Caller: Scam caller

- OZ-ILCalled my cell phone number. I did not answer despite it *allegedly* being from the SSA as well, they would have no reason to call me. Judging by other posts, just another worthless scammer making the rounds.
- Terrimy message was Order to suspend your social on immediate basis because your social has been found suspicious doe illegal activities and urgent but I do hear back from you before we proceed further with suspension of your social and assets please press one to speak to the officer I repeat press one to speak to the officer right away thank you.....lol it was a voice mail, when I press call back it goes to the SSA so debating if I should waste my time to call to report. I don't have any info to give them other than the message.

- LJM800-772-1213 is a SCAM! Don't answer them and certainly don't verify your social security number with them. The first flag was when they didn't leave a message. When I called them back I have to say it sounded legit but I hung up because something felt off. I just emailed my accountant and they said it's definitely a scam because they would only contact you through the mail and never on your cell.

- GigiThe number 1800-7721213 actually DOES belong to Social Security Office.. but has been cloned. So, be careful and do your search first.. google the number for a SSO and call back to be sure.. ask the administrator if the call is legit or if you actually have a pending case otherwise you don’t have to call. Mostly of the calls are been received by callers with Verizon phone company so do people a favor and also report the call to them as well. The Social Security Administration will provide you with a phone number of the FTC Federal Trade Commission (FTC.gov) 1877-4384338 to report and check if your identity has been compromised.

- MaryI just got a call and voicemail from this number, but all it said in a robotic voice was goodbye. I never answer calls from strange numbers.
- EcboDid not answer so call went to voicemail. Computer generated voice told me my ssn showed illegal activity and would be suspended & assets frozen if I did not respond. They did not identify themselves in anyway.

- David| 1 replyI got a phone call from this number at 9:16 AM Eastern Time, but I refused to answer the phone because I didn't recognize the caller ID. It never left me a message so I suspected it was a scammer and the YouMail app on my phone flagged it as Social Security Administration and it raised my suspicions. They claim that there were "suspicious activities with my Social Security Number and suspended it." However, I contacted my local SSA office and they told me that they found nothing suspicious and I'm alright. It is a scammer misusing SSA's toll-free number so that he/she can try to scam me. I reported scammers and robocalls pretending to be government agencies to the FTC before and my phone number is on the Tennessee and National Do Not Call Registries. I did not give them permission to call me nor have I done business with them.

- Spoofing or scammingReceived a missed call from 1-800-721-1213. Since it was a number I didn't recognize, I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message and when I called it back from another number, it was a recorded message with the Social Security Office. There were lots of "factual information" and a menu with options. I decided to block that number since when does the Social Security office call people?! It might be spoofing and then a scam for people that are off guard. I think the federal agencies should track these people down so they'll stop bothering us!
