- Uta Francke| 1 replyReceived 3 phone calls from this number with message “your SS has been suspended because of suspicious activity, press 1 to learn more.....”
- Caller: Sic security administration
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- ArizonaObvious stereotypical robocall.
A few simple questions for all concerned:
1. How does the caller actually know who they are talking to? Anyone can answer a damn phone...even a pet chinchilla if properly trained!
2. How does anyone "suspend" a social security number? SS numbers can't be suspended. Although, yours CAN and WILL be stolen if you fall for this SCAM and provide the "caller" any of your info. If that happens, YOU will be the one wanting to "suspend" your own number while trying to get your identity back.
3. Have you checked your CREDIT lately? If you fear that your identity or SS number has been stolen, check your credit for any suspicious activity. There are many places that, once a year, will give you a free credit report.

- Sam Georgia| 1 replyIf there is suspicious activity using my s.s. number then they must immediately conduct an investigation and put a stop to it!
They don't need to report back to me - just fix it.
Even if it was possible to suspend any ID number, I don't need to use my Social Security identification number, anyway, because I'm old and everyone already knows my identification. This call is obviously bogus. - MGI also got the call but didn't answer. Thanks all of you who left comments to warn others. I blocked the number immediately.
- Caller: SSN

- Denise Arbuckle same!!! replies to RachelI also just received a call from this number saying that I was being charged with drug trafficking and money laundering and that they're suspending my social security number I have disability and I work part-time so I don't think that the law enforcement can suspend your social security number unfortunately I've been in trouble in the past in the Social Security it was the way that they found me.

I am 72 and this call is just another one that we get that is bogus!- Caller: Fake-Social Security
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- T keith replies to Sam GeorgiaYes, it is bogus. The fake callers can put whatever number that they want in your caller ID. I used to be a Private Investigstor and that is one way that scammers use to trick you. It is done all the time with criminals.
- T keith replies to JLYou can’t block a number that is a scam. Scammers don’t give you the corrrct number that is calling you. These people can put in any number that they want you to see.
I know. I was a Private Investigator and this method is used all the time. - post pending moderator approval
- JulioDefinitely there is a big international scam going on!
Actually I fell for it and they scared the pants off me.
