Robo message about being from the Social Security office. All my benefits are being suspended because of suspicious activity. Pressed 1 to talk to a rep. Waited a while with their [***] hold music. Some guy with a Indian accent answer and I ask if he could verify my information, he said "[***]" and hung up.

1> the SS office will never cold call you, you will always receive mail
2>the US government is shut down, this means the SS office is also should down
3>the SS office does not hire out Indian call centers
4>I think this is a spoof number, as calling back gets a automated survey, so YMMV

Never give out your SSN over the phone, you can ask them to verify the last 4# to confirm that they have it, or give them the wrong last 4 to see if they can tell if you are buffing.
