If you are dealing with this issues with the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Call Arden Dickey // Senior Vice President, Circulation of the Star Tribune.  His number is 612-673-4156.  He will take care of it.  And if enough people call him and complain they will change the way they do business.

I don't have any Idea who these people are.  I just got a call on my job from Biehl & Biehl.  I just refuse the call.

I think I know what it's in reference to, HOWEVER, when they called, the information on my caller ID had the name of someone that is IN my contact lists!  Talk about shady!!!  And I didn't really talk to them, because I was AT the individual's place when they called.  I answered the phone oddly because I was suspicious because I knew no one from "the called ID" was really calling.  Talk about awful tactics!

Fred if you had read the above statements you would have known that the caller was a fake trying to get your account or money from you. You should read before you speak.
( Just a thought).

Yeah, he's an uneducated guy - all he does when he call us is giggle and hang up when we ask if he wishes to leave a message!

I received letters and phone calls from these Biehl and Biehl people trying to collect a debt that doesn't exist. It seems they create these fictitious debts that are small enough most people would just pay to be done with it. What they are doing is illegal and they know it. They are playing the numbers, hoping a bunch of people just settle their "debts" to make the harassment stop.

I suggest calling or sending a cease and desist to their attorney of record. Her name is Caroline Smith(Vlasis), and works at the law firm of Robbins, Salomon & Patt, Ltd. You can find her address and telephone number by looking her up in the ARDC for Illinois.

I would suggest that you file a small claims or civil action in your local state and reference the laws that they have violated, specifically the FDCPA and include Mrs Smith's contact information for the agent of record. Doing this should only cost you a few bucks and a little bit of time, but you can demand $1000 per violation of the FDCPA. Mrs Smith will be provided service and will forward the case information to her client, and will likely have to refer him to someone in your state to resolve your complaint. I would guess this would cost about $2,500 per state/locale to respond to with local counsel. If they don't respond, you may get a judgment against the collection agency which you can collect from them. There are many topics and articles you can find about collecting on a judgment and seizing assets, such as office equipment, company vehicles, etc.

Maybe if these debt collectors start to have people suing them for violations of the law we will see fewer of them trying to pull these scams.

Seems like this Biehl & Biehl is sticking to their usual script as described by many previous reports...claiming that there is debt and leaving a reference number.  I'm sure they're trying to capitalize on COVID deferrals on payments during this stressful and sensitive time...criminals!
