Got voicemail about a business account I'm associated with. The robot said the name of the organization but no account number. Said to call back or item may be returned. We did nothing that should have generated such an alert.

Received 2 voicemail messages about 1 hour apart from this number.  Saying - This is Chase Fraud Department we need to verify activity on your account for ___(it gave my nickname & not the name on my accounts with chase) - it also gave a different phone number to call:  1-888-817-8073.  So I called it and it immediately asks for your debit card # or account # or username.  After I hit # a few times it then asked me to try a different way by entering my PIN.  I hit # again --- then got a woman that insisted I give my debit card # or account # in order for her to verify the fraudulent activities on my accounts.  I told her no --- that I won't do that and that I always get text messages.  She then said - that I can call the # on the back of my debit card and speak with them if I feel this is a suspicious call.  So I called the # on the back of my debit card --- and they verified that I had ZERO fraud alerts on my account and to report the voicemails @ phishing@chase.com

These people call at 7;30 AM.  If you do not answer they call again 5 minuets later.  Far too early in the day. The recording says it is from Chase Fraud.

Robo call claiming to be chase bank fraud dept. I checked my chase bank account online and called the actual phone number on the back of my debit card and there is no indication of fraud. How these people got my first, middle, and last name and who I bank with is beyond me.   Chase bank told me that this is not the fist time they have heard of this scam happening and they would never call and leave a robot / automated voicemail or ask for a pin number over the phone from their end.
Also, the voicemail leaves a call back phone number of 888-817-8073. I googled that number and it's a scam as well with fake hold music, and then someone with an accent answers the phone and wants you to give them your personal card number and pin to them over the phone.  I knew something was fishy when I received a robo call, so luckily I never talked to a person, but other people might be so vigilant and aware....so please be careful!

This is Chase's fraud department checking to verify transactions on your account. Previous posters have noted that they check their account and they don't see any suspicious activity - this is good, but it doesn't mean that Chase isn't proactively checking with you to see if unusual activity is in fact you.

Got a voice mail from this # claiming to be Chase and asking to "verify some activity on your account".     Why would the bank itself need to verify activity on their own account?  And why doesn't this phone # come up as Chase anywhere when you do a Google search?    Answer: Because it's a phising attempt

Chase's website allows you to see all the alerts & notifications from them.  Go into your Profile (top right hand of screen on PC), next submenu is Alerts, you can find this history with 1 or 2 clicks.

So if you get a text claiming to be from them, but your account doesn't show that they texted you or emailed you, then I would assume it's a fraud.

Received a call on the office phone that went straight to hold music saying "a member of our fraud department will be with you shortly".  I went to check the caller ID when a person picked up and said "can I have your checking account number?", without even introducing herself or what company she was with.  I blurted out "excuse me?!" at the absurdity of the call and how bold she was to just to go straight for asking for personal information like that.  She backpeddled and said that she needed to verify that certain checks were valid, but she didn't have the checking account information in front of her.  If there was any doubt, that big red flag was that a business would not have information about the person they are dealing with on hand, especially in a supposed fraud case.
