- niniAllied Interstate collection agents for DIRECT TV continue to call daily over early disconnection fee. I paid DIRECT TV early disconnection fee based on 1 year that they said I owed them, then they claim that I should really owe 2 year d/c fee of $115. No way Jose. Their service was terrible from the very start with three seperate attempts to install by three seperate installation teams, numerous subsequent replacements of receivers complete with bogus charges and numerous intermittant disruption of service. My Husband says that he is going to take their dish off of the roof and wedge it into his cars moonroof and ride aroud town to DIRECT TVs office with advertisement representing the real deal revealing DIRECT TV RIPS OFF CONSUMERS. He says a satelite dish on a car ought to draw alot of attention to a company that preys on consumers and that they will lose alot of bussiness as a result.

- KSue| 1 replyYep, got me too. They guy said he was "Larry from DirectTv" but wouldn't give a last name (Larry the cable guy????) Anyway, when I told him I knew there was a scam going around and that I'd never given my cell to DirectTV, he insisted there was nothing he could do to further prove his call was legit. I insisted to be hesitant, and he was so thoughtful and carring to validate my suspicisions. (ahhhh, what a nice touch?) Anyway, I asked him to remove all my numbers from his system, that I didn't owe DirectTV any money and that the charge he claims exists was a refuted charge that has since been taken care of. I thanked him for his call and he was completely pleasant the whole time. Now, mind you, I've only received 2 calls from the number on my cell in the last 4 days, but I have lots of hangups on my home phone every day. We will see.
So...anyone know WHERE they are calling from and how to trace the actual location of the call? We could all take roadtrip....:)- Caller: Direct TV

- T| 1 replyThey phone number keeps calling me at 8:30 am EST. I wonder if it has anything to do with monster.com getting hacked? Maybe someone got my phone number through that? I took my information completely off monster.com after getting a letter from them stating they were hacked.

- evGo to donotcall.gov and register your telephone number. After a period of time, you will have most call stopped. If they do continue to call, you may be able to sue them. This doesn't apply to charities, surveys, or businesses with which you have an estbalished relationship, or bill collectors. When they call, ask them to remove you from their calling list and to cease calls to your number. They are required by law to do so

- jamesHave received two calls from 800-848-6302. Each time it has rung my home phone and immediately after my cell phone. I have not answered and they have not left a message. I am not planning in calling back either based on the other notes left here. Not sure if it is related, but I have subscribed recently to DirecTV.
- DeeI keep getting this calls from this collection agency. And they don't even have the right name.

- ca galThis caller calls 3 - 4 times per day - we don't pick it up because we don't recognize the number. Its very annoying because the calls usually come at meal time. Glad I found this site to read all of the other comments related to this apparent scam - the funny thing is that our number is on the National Do Not Call List. Consumers beware.....
- wavemastathey called me asked if im (my name) and i said yeah, they're claiming that they're from directtv and then they hanged up
- PaulaI keep getting calls from this number, too. Twice yesterday once yesterday morning around 9am, then again around 9pm. They don't leave a message and when I tried to call it back all I could get was a busy signal. I believe this is some kind of scam because if it was a legitimate collection agency or something they would leave a message. Don't you think?
- kendraFrom what I could get from DirectTV, this is a collection agency DirectTV uses, one of many, and the calls are automatically rolled over from DirectTV's database and then dialed automatically. The gal I talked to T. Westley does work for DirectTV, but in fact I didn't have an overdue balance and neither the manager or supervisor could figure out why my number was called. I asked them to take my cell number (they had it as work) off so that all calls go to my home.
My best suggestion: call the company they say they represent, make sure your account is in good standing, and remove your cell number from their database, as well you could remove your home number (just tell them it's not your number anymore).
Good luck.- Caller: DirectTV collections
