I agree! I received a call from 1 800 848 6302, The claimed to be Direct tv. They told me that didn't receive my payment for the last month. I was completely sure I had send it, because I pay all of my bills at the same  time online through my bank account, but anyways they asked me to pay my bill over the phone, of course I said absolutely no, but the weird part is that they did have all of my information. I inmediately called Direct tv to make sure that my account was in good standing, they told me that I did't owe anything, so I told them what had happen to me, I told them that someone was using their name for some kind of scam  and they didn't care at all

very rude calling my cellphone and my home everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!

keeps calling unknown who it is....try to call it back always busy, f'n illerate person with some odd ball accent. just [***] calls

I have rec'd several calls from this 1-800 number but each time I dont answer. They dont leave a message either. So I dont have any idea who it is...they have called while I am at work and at home so I am guessing they are trying to figure out when I am available. I dont have Direct TV and never have so I dont know who it could be?? I will keep checking back here for updates.

These guys really suck.  Keep calling me EVERYDAY!  instead of suing them (which I don't even believe that they are in the US..)  We can sue the company who provided them with that number, only if we can find out who supply that number.  Is there anyone up to it? We can turn this into a big class action lawsuit.

This is what happens when we sell guns and whiskey to the indians, so to speak.  Einstein was right, our technology really has exceeded our humanity.  

The people who do things like this have no compunction whatsoever about what they are doing and really don't have a grasp of the magnitude or scope of it either.  

So as a result, we have to come up with more ways to insulate ourselves.  

The result is that we build the walls higher... and higher... and higher.

I contacted my local phone company because they were calling me 6-8 times daily and were insulting, inappropriate and were harrassing me.  I was advised that their phone line is handled by MCI, that it is an outgoing line only (which is why it is impossible to call them back), and to treat them like any obscene/harrassing caller - don't answer when their number shows up on the caller ID.  Any reaction encourages them - they "get off" on it.  My phone company has contacted MCI and now 800-848-6302 only calls once or twice a day. Hopefully if enough people complain, MCI will take action.

Scam. 800-848-6302 called once and was put on stand by, called later and I answered. They asked for my name and last name but I always say "wrong phone" to every number I do not know.

He insisted and sounded like those Cubans or maybe some voice like from FL. Scam 100%.

I think also this is a Scam from Directv since I recently bought their system.

Whenever you do not expect a call from a company with an 800# always say "WRONG PHONE".

I received one today, and they left a message: Saying Hello, hello, hello, hello, and then hung up. Pretty aggravating!

Calls to cell phone, hung up soon as I answered.  I am on the federal do not call list.  I do have DirectV, but am current.

Got a couple of calls from 800-848-6302 on my cell.  Never answered and do not have DirecTV.  I like the idea of answering Homeland Security though ;o)

They call my cell phone everyday and don't say anything, neither do they leave a message.  It's really annoying.

would not give me info on who they were.  asked for someone not at this number and unknown to me.

Got a call from this number today.  They didn't leave a message.  I do have account with DirecTV and it is a couple of days late.  Sounds pretty extreme for just a couple of days.

My wife got a call today from this number claiming to be "Directv", and like another entry here, stated that my bill was past due and wanted to charge the amount due to my visa card, of course my wife refused to authorize a payment and called me right away. What is absolutely weird is that they knew the exact amount due, but it is not due until Nov 05, and they also know that I use a visa card for payment. when calling the number it rings busy, and another number they gave my wife 800-834-5000 gets a disconnect recording saying that the number cannot be reached from our area.

Yep it definitely is Direct TV. They have been callin everyday around twice and a day and they just ask for my name and hang up with out saying a thing. They still call but i do not answer anymore. Direct Tv must be using a cheap collection agency located outside in siberia somewhere. In my opinion dont be late with the direct tv payments and if you still get called then warn direct tv that you will cancel your membership and sue them if they try to collect from you.
