Called the number back and got Customer Service, they will place a block from the jail but it takes up to 24 hours for it to take place. I'm getting calls about every 20 minutes, very annoying! tried to block it thru my Cincinnati Bell account via *60, but it says it's an invalid number. Guess I have to put up with the calls until tomorrow, but at least if this person get locked up again, they will not be able to call my house phone.

I started getting calls at 6:15AM like six in a row and got the customer service of america deal. Im calling my cell phone carrier to get it blocked. As I was posting this they called 2 more times.

Business by the name of Customer Service of America. It's what many jails and prison inmates use to make phone calls.

http://www.myphoneaccount.com/   has a bunch of info on it. I called the 800 number and that is what they told me as well. I got a letter several days later from a friend of mine who is in jail. And he tried to call me.

I received this call at 9:22 p.m on Saturday, March 24th.   It went to my voice mail since I was at a friends birthday party.   When I listened to the message, it said collect call,etc.   This needs to stop.

I got same type of call to my cell phone!  By pushing 7 (option to get more info) it connected me to Customer Service of America, which is a call center for Amtel.  So I googled Amtel and got a number (912-510-3512) to call them and all I got was a recording, which fortunately gave up another number for immediate assistance, which was 205-5299-7774.  I called that number and reached a lady named Karen, who told me if I gave her my cell phone number she  would find out which correctional facility the call came from and she would call me back.  That was over 2 hours ago.  I have not heard back!

CORRECTION, THE NUMBER TO REACH "KAREN" WITH AMTEL IS 205-529-7774...THIS IS SOUNDING MORE AND MORE LIKE SOME TYPE OF SCAM.  Amtel's main number is 912-510-3512.

Just called "Karen" 205-529-7774 back, since she has NOT returned my call, she references to another Amtel person (missed name) at 912-510-3512, that has a recording that they're sorry they missed my call, if I want to "set up a block", please call 18008496081 or if you have a 'sales or Cell' question, you can call (unidentifiable name said) at 912-510-3512, which answers as Amtel customer service, sorry we missed your call, if you need immediate assistance you can call "Karen" at 205-529-7774.  Other comments I've read on this forum say people are being charged for calls!

I had a missed call from this number at 12:56 pm and it said I had a voicemail and I tried to hear it but the automatic reply said "If you consent this call dial 1 now" everytime I did it would just repeat itself...I still don't know what the message was.

2 calls back to back no message, it is now on my reject list.

This is a jail number and is not supposed to cost anything for an inmate to call u from it but could get fees if u call it back, either its someone with a wrong number calling or its someone u know who is locked up

this is between you and attorney cofindentiality, then goes on about accepting this call as a collect call and would i be willing to accept it

I've been getting these calls all week at all times of the night.Same message as listed above except it mentions Pima County on mine. Messages are cut off, as others say, but part did say hang up and call Pima County..so there's somebody out there selling or giving numbers to inmates at prison. I will call Pima County Jail tomorrow. Who knows why, but maybe some of the mad telemarketers out there get back at the public by giving numbers to the inmates to play with. I know no one in jail.. I suggest everyone complain like mad to these prisons, we shouldn't have to put up with this crap and the inmates should be making license plates instead of obscene phone calls.
