- Peggy| 1 replyThis is a private debt collector, contracted by the local District Attorney to try to collect on bad checks. They are calling you, because they don't have your address to send a notice. If they don;t have your address, they can't send a notice, and can't collect.
Google "American Corrective Counseling Services" and you will read all about this company-that has multiple class action suits against them.
They are now National Corrective Group, having filed bankruptcy before due to all the lawsuits, for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices act.- Caller: National Corrective Group

- Rob replies to PeggyOr, they are scamming you. Sounds like BS to me. However, your post poses a question...why would a District Attorney contract to a company that's been sued so many times that they had to close down and reopen under another name? Sounds SOMEHWAT FISHY to me. Same scam, different number.
- Linda DixonThey asked me why I was calling.
- DaveThey called me telling me they had 4 bounced checks from me and they were with something official something or another and needed my address to validate it..
I informed him that I don't own checks and haven't written any.. He said "well im looking at four checks right here" and I said "I don't care if you are looking at 4 clowns, it doesn't mean they are mine"
lol

- marusiaI received a call from 800-850-2556, The person calling identified himself as a prosecuting attorney looking for a Richard Mick. He sounded very authoritative. I know of a Richard Mick, and I referred him to his sister, giving him her phone numbers. I now question the motive behind this call.

- Matt GI received numerous calls from this number over a three week period picked up by my answering machine and caller ID. They never left a message. I finally was home this morning and picked up the call. It was a guy with maybe a British or colonial accent. He asked for Nika Yesu. I asked what for? He asked if Nika is there. I asked why he was calling my phone to reach this person he said that he didn't know and would have my number removed from his list. I asked him his name and where he was calling from. He hung up.
