I got 5 calls from this number between 10:20 and 11:40 am. I wasn't able to answer, I was busy and didn't here my phone ring, I noticed the calls and finally had to shut off my phone, once my phone is shut off it doesn't show any missed calls unless I have a voice-mail so who knows how many times they called me. I also then had a 6th missed call before I shut it off from 970-529-8078 witch is a number I am not familiar with, I'm not sure if this 6th call is connected the 800-850-2792 number or not but I do think it is. I've not been giving out my phone number or looking at any insurance, I don't know how they got my number as it is private.

Better yet, if companies are calling on your home phone or you have unlimited airtime on your cell phone, tell them you need to get something and you will be right back. Set the phone down and walk away. Come back about 30 minutes later and they will be gone. I love doing that because it takes up their time and most of them have quotas to meet.

There are some companies that I will do the following:

The next time these morons (or other companies) call you tell them, "Remove my phone number from your calling list and never call my phone again. If you call me again I will report you because it will be in violation of the federal law and I will personally have my attorney sue you for harassment and anything else we can come up with."  Telling them that you are going to report them for repeated harassing phones after being told to not call you again  and that you are going to sue them usually gets the calls to stop immediately. They know that the fed's will come after them and impose heavy fines for it. It is a federal law that companies are not allowed to call you after you have notified them that you do not want to be called again.

You wont believe how fast these guys either back track and start apologizing and promising to never call you again or they hang up before you can finish what you are saying. I have even had some of them start stuttering because they were so nervous and afraid I was actually going to report them.  I wont report them  to the feds or sue them because I don't feel like completing all the darn paper work but they don't know that.  ;-)

The bad thing about do that is what if a family member gets injured or become sick and is rushed to the hospital and that hospital tries to call you. Now the hospital can't reach you. Maybe you might want to reconsider blocking calls that way.

Here is what I do and it works first time 99% of the time.

Writing that on this Website wont do diddly to stop them.  They don't come to this Website. The next time they call you, do this...

The 970-529-8078 is a business number from Cortez, Colorado. Any time you want to get information on a phone number go to www.whitepages.com and then type the number in the "reverse number" section.

To get companies to stop calling you try the following:

The next time these morons (or other companies) call you tell them, "Remove my phone number from your calling list and never call my phone again. If you call me again I will report you because it will be in violation of the federal law and I will personally have my attorney sue you for harassment and anything else we can come up with."  Telling them that you are going to report them for repeated harassing phones after being told to not call you again  and that you are going to sue them usually gets the calls to stop immediately. The reason these insurance (or other telemarketers) are not in violation of the DNC, is because some other citizen, looking on a insurance quote site, entered MY PHONE NUMBER instead of theirs... How many times have YOU done this, because you wanted to shop quotes, but wanted to ensure that you wouldn't get follow-up calls? My number, which ends with four zeroes, is easy to remember, but also is an obvious "make up a number." Try to keep this in mind when you make one up... stick to the 555's, so you don't screw someone else...

Actually it's not so complicated. Just follow simple instructions, and put your phone number(s) on a do not call list. This will prevent you from lying to them that they will have problem: you will be telling truth. Here's the link:
    https://www.donotcall.gov/
Once your numbers on the list you can actually start reporting. Otherwise, they have right to call you!

Whenever I get a call from a number I don't recognize, I put the number in the Google search engine.
That tells me, right away, whose number it is; and I can block it or call it, as necessary.
