This number keeps calling asking for someone else, and we don't have the option to tell them we aren't who they are looking for.  Please help stop this.

they are debt collectors , ignore them and they go away.

You say maybe you people should pay your bills.... maybe you people should get the right number.  You call for someone I don't even KNOW!  I have had this phone number for like 6 - 7 years now.

a recorded message greeted me as fma alliance, asking for a name similar to my husband's, but definitely not him....press 1 if you are this person, press 2 to give this person time to come to phone, press 3 if this person is not available.....(of course, no press 4 if this person is someone you've never heard of).....i pressed 1 to hopefully be connected to a person, but instead another recording came on, saying "please call us at 800-856-0420"   so i called them and spoke to a lady who was polite when i told them i had no idea who this person was.....she couldn't bring up a name based on my phone number.....then she finally checked by the name, and found the case file.....asked me if there was an alternate number he could be reached at (after i told her i did not know him), so i explained myself again (never giving my name, nor my husband's, or any other private information about us)......she said she would turn our number over to a supervisor or manager to be put on the do not call list.....we'll see.....the number they originally called from was 281-670-1540 and caller id listed it as blocked name......

The call I got says Mae Edna and sinec its three today.

so obviously the phone isn't registered to a person.

I got a phone call from them today at work. I called back worried that I owed something and yes I gave my last 4 digits to my soc and my address to verify that I wasn't the person. But now I am worried that they just stole my identity or something. Can they do that with that info

Maybe if you knew the situation of the people that are not paying their bills not all of them are low life.  My sister & brother in law had credit scores in the 800's, they could walk into a bank and borrow money just on their name.  About 4 years ago a 19 yr old was driving too fast in the snow, went across a 4 lane divided highway and was for the most part hit head on.  Due to the air bags and seat belts, she is very lucky, she received life long injuries but walked away from the wreck.  Because of the doctor bills and the girls insurance not paying she is now in a major financial hardship.  They wish they could live pay check to pay check, right now they are living day to day.  Right now they are dealing  with the calls from debt collectors.  She too was one that thought "why don't these people just pay their bills".  Her life changed in all of 3 seconds ......

they called for my mother the day she was buried and asked me to give them the courtesy of forwarding the power of attorney to them.  the number was 866 822 1300 which is Chase Bank.  and yes like everyone else the calls came in recorded at 1:26 and 3:30 in the mornings on Sunday and Tuesday, respectively.
