I hate hangups.

a quick Google of the number shows some kind of cold sales in Canada.

The start of a new week, and the start of a new barrage of annoying scam phone calls.  I've gotten 5 so far today (Monday 2012-04-09), I did not answer and let them all ring (4 to 5 rings each).  Here they are with the fascinating variety of numbers and caller ID names:

800-860-5780 @ 09:39am - TOLL FREE
503-902-8479 @ 10:06am - PACIFICTEL
480-699-0166 @ 11:19am - SOLAR BEAR
260-399-3723 @ 11:40am - HEALTH CARE INF
818-436-0440 @ 12:05pm - No Caller ID Name

There's no doubt that these are all from the same scam artists, I've been getting calls from these numbers for weeks.  More numbers and information in my post here:

I guess they just set their auto-dialer to "shuffle play" and hope to hit the right combination of scam and victim.

I've tried using the disconnected 3-tones recording, it doesn't work.  How can I get these scammers to stop calling me?

Another call from the Mortgage Modification scammers.  

You'd think they'd at least change the recorded message when they changed the phone number.

Sometimes stupid is just that - plain stupid.   I guess these guys went 'no holds barred' stupid, eh?

The US Marine Corps use a spiffy little device to stop people from bugging them - it's called a B.A.R.

Just put in the unique brass colored cylindrical cartridges that are 1/2" diameter on the small end and then pull both levers while pointing the device at the offending party.  200-300 cartridges later, no more problem - ever.

Works every time.  Just remember your ear plugs - it's a bit loud.

There is one small hitch, we're still waiting for them to approve Open Season on telemarketers.   But I won't tell if you don't.

Gambling, but no where NEAR an investment.   This moron robo-called me from this number and then called me back from: 561-746-5844

Not the sharpest tool - just a tool.  Started in on his script about how gold outperformed sliced bread and free hookers in a capitalist society.   All this after I asked him to NEVER call me again.  What a MORON.
So, once he got rolling on his script I let the dial tone do MY talking.
