- Caller: ERC
- Call type: Debt collector
- ClaudiaThey call everyday at 8:16am but no message left and it seems that they only ring once or twice and hang up. I blocked the number.
- LisaBe careful, I recently heard of a scam where the phone rings once to get you curious and call back and then you end up with this ridiculously high charge on your phone bill (any kind of phone). I just received a call from this number, rang once and that was it. Based on the prior posts, for my situation unfortunately, due to being laid off 3 times in the last 5 years I do actually owe AT&T on a bill and have outstanding student loan debt so I can't really say either way but wanted to warn people about the one ring scam I heard about from a seemingly legitimate news source.
- pepoThey called, phone rang once, and they hung up. no voice mail.
- Dom F Ederelli| 2 repliesCan i get paid for these harassing calls?
- Caller: at&t
- Call type: Debt collector
- snyper replies to Dom F EderelliIn theory you could if they are violating the FDCPA and you had a lawyer sue them. Do some research and find out your rights under the FDCPA...you might have a case..there are plenty of people in this forum who know more than I do so ask questions, but search all the resources here first.
- CeCe| 1 replyGreat, I get rid of one collection agency (using one or more numbers) due to wrong identity and then this one pops up. I don't have and never have had an at&t bill, nor have I had a student loan, either. Ugh--I hate these people.
