    calling multiple times for weeks!!
I have preivously told them "Laura" no longer has this phone, yet they have been calling for weeks!  I usually don't answer so I don't waste minutes, but today I answered again and asked them not to call me anymore, Laura doesn't have this #.  The guy got an attitude and continued to ask for Laura, I told him I would report them to federal authorities, and he said "you are threatening me, I will report you for threatening me!"
    This company is ABUSING people.

    Unbelievable
This number called me for the first time today, but since I changed cell phone providers, I have decided NOT to set up my voice mail box.  This way they don't know who it is they are calling.
My personal feeling is if you want to effectively reach people, don't call them.  Send them a letter.  If the letter comes back Undeliverable As Addressed, then you have to go another route.
Just know, people in this day and age of technology just choose to not return phone calls.  It is a waste of time and money to call anyone especially if you are asking them for money.

    File a Complaint with FTC
First thing to do, call the company back at 1-800-870-7316.  Speak with a supervisor and explain that the person they are trying to reach no longer has this phone number and ask to be removed from their database AND their autodialer. Ask them what they need from you to remove you from their database.  They might need a written cease of communications notice.  If they push back, tell them you will report them to the FTC if they continue to call you.

Standard respons should be they will put in the request, and it may take up to 48 hours to process.   If after 48 hours you continue to get calls, then go to the Federal Trade Commission website below:

    https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

Once there, just follow the instructions to report the company for abusive business practices.

Don't do this though until after you have contacted the company directly and requested them to remove your number and speak with a manager or supervisor. The people who are calling you are just following instructions from their auto-dialers and cannot really do anything.  Asking them to stop calling you will not solve anything.  Also just ignoring the calls will not solve anything.

yes he can report you for threatining him, never threaten a bill collector.

let them threaten you, then they can be liable for monies ot be paid directly to you. if they threaten you they are in violation of the fdcpa and you can file charges against them and sue them. i reccommend you do that.

all bill collectors are low lifes, who wakes up in the morning and says to themselves lets go find people down and out and make thier day worse.

    just dont answer the phone.

any bill collector that calls from out of state or that can not id themselves are scammers and garbage and cowards. try to ignore it, but try not to answer the phone as well.

these people buy bad debt, meaning debt that can not be collected legally.

these low lifes dont care about the law and break it everyday.

this specific number is registerd to a company very well know for illegally maipulating people. they break every law set in place to protect us.

file all the complaints you can.

    attorney general

    look up the fdcpa
    state bar for attorneys
    etc etc etc

Ask to speak to a supervisor. Tell the supervisor to never call the number they have been calling again.  But you have to tell them not to.  Be cool, talk to a Supervisor, and tell em, "Don't ever call this number again". Then tell them that "all future communication must be done through the United States Postal System". This drives them bananas but it's the law and they must obey.

    question mark
Received a call while at work, but didn't answer.  I called back and asked who I was calling, and what I could do for them.  The addressed me by name, and told me they were calling to collect a debt that I am a guarantor on.

When I told them I wasn't refusing to pay and would gladly set up payment arrangements, they said they needed to verify my information.  They claimed to not have ANY information about me (including phone number, even though, as stated, when I called back, they addressed me by my name!)

When they tried to verify my address, they gave me an address that was 6 years old, and claimed that they didn't have an address for me.  When I told him that I was skeptical about answering questions including giving my social security number over the phone without knowing anything about the company, he accused me of not taking my debt seriously, and told me the only way we could clear this up is for me to trust him.

I asked him to mail me information on how I could make payment arrangements, and he told me that they "only do this over the computer".  When I asked for the website to read the information, he told me that they don't do it on the computer, only over the phone.

What bill collector will allow you to make payments only over the phone, claims to not have a phone number to reach you (when you've received calls already), and claims they don't have any of your personal information, and doesn't deal through the mail, but expects you to take someone's word for it?!
