- wcoVoice mail message on my iPhone said they are with Fraud Prevention Unit With First National Bank. When I called I explained my card is through Citi Bank and I asked how they got my phone number. It was explained that they handle cards for many companies. I reiterated that Citi Bank holds my card and when they looked me up they could not find by my name. I did not give any credit card information. Called Citi Bank who confirmed I would hear from them for credit card fraud.

- RERule of thumb- suspicious question about a caller regarding your credit card, always call the number on the back of your card. No exceptions.
- Call type: Valid
- Ruth replies to jackThey are legit, someone stole my credit card number & used it!
- SamTheir fraud department called me. I’m not a patron. I don’t bank there. They want another person by a different name.
- Caller: Bank of Omaha Fraud Dept.
- Call type: Valid
- Rob| 1 replyThey asked me to get my driver's license, social security card, and a recent pay stub or W2 notarized to get one of there credit cards. It is illegal for any notary to notarize a social security card. This is very suspicious, as they are asking for things that are illegal and are asking for all the things they need to do a identity theft. I never in my life heard of a bank asking for these things just to get a credit card. They also asked me 1st to get bank id'd? They say that's where you go into any bank with your driver's license and have that bank call them and verify you. I called every Bank within a 40 mile radius of where I live and not One Bank ever heard of that, and not one of them were willing to call this phone number. Every bank I talked to to see if they would do this said it is very suspicious and they've never heard of a credit card holder to ask for such nonsense. I am having first national Bank of Omaha investigated as they are asking to do illegal things such as get a social security card notarized! Watch out for this Bank, I totally do not trust them, or at least don't trust their fraud prevention department!!

- BigA replies to RobThe fraud prevention dept. would not be helping you to open up a credit card. I have to wonder if you called them or they called you to apply for this card.

- BigA replies to JadedObviously. from your use of fractured English you must be one of the scammers trying to shill for this number. It is clear that English is not your first or second language.

- LisI got a call seemed suspect. I’ve been contacted by FNBO about fraud before, not like this. Went to the app, no activity, nothing blocked. Definitely fake.
- Jen| 1 replyLegit number. FNBO sent me an actual snail mail letter after I didn’t respond to their messages. They had placed a hold on my card due to suspected fraud.
- Caller: FNBO
- Astrolyre replies to JenNow see, this is how you can flush out the legitimate calls!
Simply ignore all suspicious calls, forcing them to mail you a letter - so you can know exactly who and where they are.
If there is "suspected fraud" on a bank card, the bank will do the right thing and put a "hold" on it so you won't have to worry about it!
As Jen points out, it's important to just ignore calls like this.
