I kept on getting 2-3 calls per day from this number at different hours. Today i finally picked up. I guy with heave Indian accent said he is calling from Microsoft center. I asked from where and how they got my number. He stated  "you know when you computer has error messages and you click ok to share with Microsoft? So we are calling to follow up on your issues with you computer." I told him I don't own a PC, nothing to do with Microsoft. He then switched gears and asked if i owned a "Macintosh". Come on, a total scam!! 1) Everyone is USA says "mac"; 2) Apple is a completely different company and they wouldn't be calling you.
When I told the guy again that I don't own a computer and asked for the 3rd time in a row to remove my number from their calling list he rudely hung up. Added to the block list with my cell company.

Received call and after two rings they hung up.  Like another above, I called the number back 6:20 p.m. Eastern time and got a message that it is an out of service number.  I will try to answer more quickly next time and screw with their heads.  The DNC registry obviously doesn't work.  I have so many numbers on call block for these multiple scam outfits that I have no more room to block another.  PHEW!  The land of the free...

    >> The DNC registry obviously doesn't work. <<

    Incorrect.
It is your understanding of the purpose of the DNC list that is lacking.

What everyone should know about the Federal Do Not Call List.

    1.  The DNC list is effective in reducing or eliminating calls from legitimate telemarketers - telemarketers who have registered with the FCC.

    2.  The DNC list is NOT intended to, nor can it do the following:
    -- automatically block calls.
    -- stop calls from:
    --- politicians
    --- survey companies
    --- debt collectors
--- companies with which you have a "business relationship"
--- NON registered "telemarketers" (they do not subscribe to the list, and do not care about the list)
--- telespammers, telescum, and other criminals (these people ignore the law)

    3.  The DNC list is for use by private phones, not business phones

The DNC does indeed work, and is quite effective, if you consider the above statements.

If you wish more protection than that afforded by the DNC provisions, obtain a call blocker device, phone or app.  with more capability.  Google is your friend.

If you wish to report a telespammer, report it to the FTC

This number is calling on my landline late at night AND early in the morning.  I let it go into msg and obviously it doesn't leave a msg because it's another scammer... but my landline is solely for Life Alert for eldercare, so it's very scary when these [***] wake me up after I've gone to bed, or early in the morning.  I do NOT need the extra stress! Why can't somebody do something to protect us from this awful nightmare?

Decided to have some fun with these jerks. I added them to my contact list as "microsoft scammers" and take their calls during my commute to work. I play the game of keeping them on the phone with all kinds of crazy dialogue. keeps them on the phone so they can't harass more people, and helps pass the time when stuck in traffic.
