- GMPThis caller left swear words on my message system. Not sure who it belongs to... was researching the number and found the info below.
- Angry AuntReceived 3 phone calls in less than 24 hour period. One at 8:40 am yesterday, the 2nd at 8:19 am today and the 3rd at 11:20 today. This is an account that my nephew listed me as a reference. Not a cosigner, not an authorized user just a reference. The first 2 calls they agent stated that I was an authorized user and that is why they called as well as gave me information about the account. I stated several times that I know that I am not an authorized user and they continued to discuss his information with me. Mind you it is just one payment. I gave my nephew the phone number and he called to take care of the situation. They wanted him to give his full social security number over the phone. He did not. but they would not verify his account in any other way. I agree that the social should not be given out over the phone especially to a number that shows up as spam on your phone.
- Lisa| 8 repliesMy husband's last car was financed with these people. Due to unforseen circumstances the car had apparent electrical issues and caught fire thus being totaled. He had gap insurance and apparently they won't talk to our insurance and because of this the darn company claims they haven't been paid and keep pestering us for the monthly payments for a car that was totaled months ago! Now they're calling ME! I hate this company. And yes my husband has spent hours getting the papers they say they need and yet nothing is happening. What's the point of Gap insurance if it doesn't help us?!?!?

- BigA replies to Lisa| 7 repliesWere they paid? If the insurance company paid them then that information should be sent to them by certified, return receipt mail stating that you do not owe them any money, that they were paid in full and that they must immediately cease and desist calling/bothering/writing to you. Look up the name of a company bigwig, like a VP. Send it him/her directly. Bet you get results.
- Lisa replies to BigA| 6 repliesMy husband isn't sure. He sent emails to both but both refuse to communicate with each other. It's like pulling teeth. He gave them the information for his Gap insurance and washed his hands of it. We'd have an easier time walking on water or flying without a plane. LoL. This company is impossible. I wouldn't recommend this finance company to ANYONE.
- BigA replies to Lisa| 5 repliesI doubt that you will be able to wash your hands of this mess. It will soon turn into a collection issue that will escalate and will also affect your credit. You could try your State Attorney General but they might decline because they can't actually represent you. You will probably end up hiring a lawyer. You may have a cause of action against the lender and the insurance company. I've never heard of an insurance company that would not communicate on behalf of their insured. Oh, and as I said before, you should be sending actual letters out. You cannot prove that they received an email or even that they read them. You can prove that they received certified, return receipt mail because you get a little green card back with someone's signature on it. If they don't read that then that's their problem because you can prove that they got it.

- Lisa replies to LisaSorry that was NOT a swear word with the * mark.
- Lisa replies to BigA| 2 repliesWhat kind of lawyer does this kind of thing? We can't afford a lawyer.
- BigA replies to Lisa| 1 replyYou will have to discuss fees, etc. with the attorney. Most attorneys will see you for free to discuss the case. You can also call your local BAR association up and ask if there are any low cost/Pro Bono attorneys in your area. You can also check here as these attorneys specialize in collection cases. http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All - Lisa replies to BigACan't I report them for harassment? They called twice in an hour. And they're calling daily. Like I said they won't listen to reason when we tell them the car is a loss. For some reason the Gap insurance we purchased with that vehicle either is refusing to pay or something isn't happening like it should. We can't afford a 3rd car payment...especially for a car we no longer have. I'm at a loss here and frankly the stress of daily calls for something I have no experience with is getting to me.
- Lisa replies to BigAAgain what is the point of Gap insurance if it wont cover you in cases like this? Aren't situations like this why Gap insurance exists? My husband told me that paper thats usually on the inside of the window of a car when you buy it, is the very paper we need but like most people, we didn't save that paper. I looked in our safe and I cant even find paperwork for that now destroyed vehicle. I cant convince my husband to take any more action because he feels its useless. Im at a loss. Thanks for your help. I will bookmark that link and hope he looks at it because while my credit is really good right now...something like this could yank my credit down with his.
