Review the posts under phone number 972-535-3400.  This company changed the number being displayed from 972-535-3400 to their toll free customer service number 1-800-913-6097.  They are a company that handles the billing for calls from prisons.

I've gotten calls from this number, unwanted, and found out through this service that it collects money for calls from prisons.  I've never authorized anybody to get money from me for calls from any prison.  The call doesn't identify who or what it is.  It is just another harrassing call on my cell phone.

Call around 3 pm PST on my cell-unwanted. If I don't recognize it, I don't pick it up. Thanks for your previous posts!!

Called my cell and I called number back and it said it was V-Connect but do not know who was trying to call me or at what facility. Is there any way I can find out?

its from the jail in your local town...
i got one this morning and then found out one of my kids was in jail...
so its the new phone system for the jails.... good luck to any that get them ,,, its just a easier way for them to contact you and not have to pay for a collect call...

I recived this call at 10:28 pm.  on my cell, I didnt answer so I hope I wont have any kind of charges of any kind!

Got a call at 3:33PM PDT from this number. I missed it, so I didn't get a chance to pick it up. I'm in the Portland Metro area, if that helps others.

it is all fraud. if you actually accept a call from this number the culprits are able to caputre your cell phone number and "clone" it racking up hundreds or thousands of dollars of charges on  your cellular phone.

"telemarketing scam"

I got a call @ 6:10:34PM GMT from 800-913-6097. A couple seconds later my voice mail alert popped up so called and there was nothing said on the message.

Received this call and it was from a friend who was in jail calling collect.......they gave us 60 seconds free to talk but that is no time at all and trying to call this number all I get is some gibberish from a female phone operator that I cannot understand.........

They asked for $7.95 for "processing fees" to set up an account......seems rather greedy of them but they know they have a desperate, captive audience, mostly poor people who can be taken advantage of.........kind of disgusting to me........

I got a call from this number today. My brother is in jail. The recording said "there are insufficient funds in your account. Please call this number to set up an account and add funds". Sounds totally legit to me. I could NOT accept the call. No money was taken from me. It's actually a great idea! My brother has been in jail before and the collect calls on my bill at the end of each month are unbelievable! This is a great way to save LOTS of money and still get to keep in contact with my brother!

I received a call from this number at 1:05 a.m. and then again at 10:59 a.m. and 11:41 a.m., I never answered and they never left any message. Sounds like a scam!

i get calls from this number all the time but they are from my friend in prison. no scam you dumb idiots.

The call came in a 1:15 p.m., 12/21/08, but I missed it.  I then telephoned the number, but would not respond to a request for my telephone number, etcetera.  My call lasted two minutes and 00 seconds, as I wanted to speak to a human being.  Upon being disconnected automatically, I listened to my voicemail.  The message was ONLY partially recorded and it said something about 097, which are the last three digits of the 800 number.  

This should system regardless of who has it should be HALTED.  I am sending this site, as a means of letting the police department know that folks do not particularly care for this not widely known process.  I should not know ANYONE in any jail anywhere.

Call t 7pm. Did not answer.  I never answer calls I do not know.

I got a call from this number at 5:47 in the morning! I don't know anyone in prison so this is very strange and I was not happy to be woken by the call....

I got a call from this number Friday May 1st at 8PM. Initially I declined the call. It called back again a half hour later. Said "this is a collect call from the Clackamas county jail. Due to insufficient funds you cannot answer this call, to add money to your account press 4." I thought this has gotta be a scam because I pay my cell bill and dont know anyone who would be in jail calling me. If this is a scam, I hope they get caught before taking advantage of someone. It's really annoying.
