- dwRecorded message, Indian accent, invited me to call back to "help me" pay off my debt but although I have a few BofA credit cards, all are 0 balances so these are scam calls. Hang UP! Call came in on 866-423-5049 line and I bounced to voice mail which told me to call 800-918-8520 back. DO NOT ANSWER - put these calls on ignore.

- JDReceived calls and voicemails from two different numbers (888) 729-7123 (Feb 16,2024) and (866) 423-5049 (Feb 22, 2024) urging me to call back to (800) 918-8520. Both with the same Bank of America “beneficial resources” pitch. Definitely a scam.

- MikeHuntleton replies to KarlHopefully things worked out for you, however, scammers are pretty clever these days and impersonate banks often. For everyone else, don't trust a caller you weren't expecting, especially from your bank. Better safe than sorry, call from a number on their website"

- Frank BamaGot a voice mail from "Bank of America". Called the number provided. I was suspicious. Got a person right away, again suspicious. Decided to hang-up and find the number from my bank statement. I Called and BOA said they had no record of the call and that the number provided in the voice mail is not in their database. SCAM.

- JonFor the last few months, I receive weekly calls from random numbers that leave voicemails claiming to be Bank of America and asking me to call 1-800-918-8520. Although many of the voicemails are convincing, the overall feeling is that it is a scam, i.e. I have never received any follow up letters or messages in the mobile banking app. During the pandemic, Bank of America cut all my credit limits to the existing balance on the cards, sending my credit utilization through the roof, and my credit score into the toilet - there was no phone call then, just a letter telling me to shove it. The moral of the story is that even if it is legitimate, you are not in trouble and they are not trying to help you (beyond pitching you on a useless service to increase their bottom line), so do not call the number back.
