- Bob DewWith the number of complaints why isn't the number being closed out and the individuals owning the number place in jail for fraud? How may statements from individuals are needed for action to be taken to stop the Scam attacks?

- Amanda| 1 replyI was told on my Chase receipt to call this number. It actually is the same as the number on the back of my card.
- Kat* replies to AmandaWhy did your receipt tell you to call this number? And why are you even here? Do you often look up known phone numbers when there's no logical reason to do so?
- ToriPlease read if you have the same issue I'll try to keep it short. I got a debit card from chase telling me to activate a card to an account I don't even have. I have 1 bank and it's not them. Called the number on the card for the "fraud department". I was weary it was either a scam or someone stole my ID. Anyway after I called she told me my SSN was compromised. Obviously freaked out I said I want to close the account. I was on hold and she transferred me to the fraud department. A different lady answered (phone connection constantly breaking up) and said to close the account I needed to give my FULL SSN, email, home address, full name and birthday, and driver license. Yeah no obvious scam in my opinion. Banks never ask for all of that to close an account especially one I didn't open in the first place. Anyway that's my verdict but to double check I am going in to an actual branch. I would not trust this "fraud department." They could easily have everything set up to trick you including a website. I recommend Jim Browning on youtube he definitely helped me be more careful of scams.

- Anonym| 1 replyIt is a Chase number but it's being spooffed/faked to commit robbery. This man actually tried to tell me if I don't open a Zelle acount, they'll have no where to send my refund of $4,999.95 that isn't even missing from my account. I almost fell for it too. Hubby and I drove to the branch while stalling the guy on the phone. As soon as he found out we were in the branch he said, "I'll cut the line" and hung up. Now I'm canceling all cards and watching my account like a hawk. Always hang up and call their fraud department yourself who's number you'll find on the back of your card. I can't believe I almost fell for this.
- Caller: supposedly chase fraud
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Kat* replies to AnonymThere is no reason Chase would have you open an account with ANYONE for a refund if you were actually due one. They would simply refund it you your CHASE account.
- BriSomeone claiming to be from Chase fraud department. They weren’t from Chase. They tried to get me to log into my bank account. To supposedly stop zelle payment that wasn’t even on there.

- JMJI think this number is BOTH a real Chase number and is also being spoofed by fraudsters. If in doubt, call Chase yourself to see if there is an issue or go to your online account. Do not automatically give your information out when you are called. A few months ago I got fake fraud alerts via text, then calls from this purported number. They were very persistent and called over and over again. I called Chase (as I do have an account with them) and they said there was no unknown or suspicious acting on my account. I just got another couple of calls from this number with no message and nothing suspicious on my account. So ... be careful if anyone calls you asking for personal account information. Call the bank yourself at their posted phone number and you can be sure of reaching real bank employees, rather than fraudsters trying to get your money.
